Benny and Rory were fighting about some geeky thing, but all that Mckenzie could think about was that moment Benny and her had had in the gym just last week. So Mckenzie had done some research, and found out that Apportez mon amour vers le bas means Bring my love down
Mckenzie blushed at just the thought of it. She knew that it was probably the only spell to bring her down from that hight, but she was still a crimson red after just thinking about it.
"What are you all blushy about?" Benny asked her, elbowing her gut lightly. Her eyes widened as she looked around for some lame excuse, when she found one, right outside the school window.
"Kurt 'the Hurt' Lochner." She blurted out. As soon as the words left her mouth, she wished she could take them back. Benny's face fell, and her stomach twisted. If there was any chance he did like her, she just blew it. "Just kidding!" She blurted out again. She needed some goldfish-stat. As mentioned before, Mckenzie is quite the stress eater. When there's no food around, the rambles. "How could I like Kurt? He's so hairy, and huge, like twice my size actually-" Her brother handed her a granola bar. "Thank you." She said as she took a huge bite out of it.
"What's wrong?" Benny asked taking a step closer to her. "You mad Erica went out with Kurt last night?" He teased her, trying to cover up that he just wanted to scream because she liked Kurt. Why would Mckenzie like him? He's just a geek. Kurt on the other hand is captain of the wrestling team. A real man's man. Benny really held onto some false hope then, after their moment in the gym. That's all he could think about. He wasn't even paying attention to him and Rory's argument. He secretly wished that when he asked her why she was so blushy, she would say the gym. She was his love. That's what it said in the spell. 'Bring down my love' and it worked. That's when Benny knew this wasn't something he could get over quickly, like Della. If a spell with the word love in it works, something's bound to happen. It's not a little fling.
"No, that's not it!" She argued, trying to get the truth across. "The truth is..." she looked at him, and couldn't do it. She couldn't face him saying something like 'aww that's sweet, but you're only my best friend'. "...the truth is I had a dream about someone last night." She lied, and went to take another bite of the granola bar, only to find she had already finished it.
"Who was the dream about?" Benny asked curiously.
"Someone, who's in this school, who's not Kurt. Can we clear that up, please?" She begged him.
He put his hands up in surrender. "Fine, you don't like Kurt, but now we have to find out who the dream is about."
