Mckenzie laid in her bed, thinking about everything going on in her life. She had just met a vampire, she realized she liked Benny, and it was only the first day of high school! She sighed knowing that her life would only get harder and more complicated after this. She let her thoughts sing her a lullaby and drifted off to sleep.
"Wazzup!" Rory greeted Ethan, Benny, and Mckenzie the next morning. He had sunglasses and cooler clothes on.
"Rory you're-" Ethan cut himself off. "We thought you were dead!"
"All I know is, I woke up after the party feeling awesome." Rory explained. "No asthma, I don't need my glasses, and I barely have to sleep anymore. The only problem is the sun, kinda annoying."
"You're a fledgling too?" Mckenzie asked her blonde friend.
"Heck, no!" Rory said. "I'm rocking the whole vampire action!" He made a 'v' with his fingers. "The big V! Can I get a what-what?" He asked holding his arm up for a high five.
"What?" Ethan asked.
"What?" Mckenzie asked.
"Close enough." Rory said pulling his arm down.
"You drank human blood?" Ethan asked.
"They said if I didn't I'd die." Rory explained. "Plus, everyone else was doing it!"
"Do you have any idea what you've just done to yourself?" Benny asked.
"I'm immortal and all-powerful, dude. Ka-chow!" Rory exclaimed. The vampires from last night's party came behind Rory. "Sorry, I gotta go to church." He said sadly.
"Church?" Mckenzie asked. "Vampires don't do church."
"Jesse says we have to." Rory said shrugging. "He's so bossy. He's all blah blah the prophecy and blah blah, you must find the Cuban animals or-"
"Cuban animals?" They asked at the same time.
"I don't know. That's what it sounded like." Rory said. "Anyway, we'll hang out later. Or fang out! Zing!" He walked away.
Mckenzie turned to the boys in front of her. "So which one of us is gonna make fun of that?"

Ethan told Benny and Mckenzie that they had to find out what the Vampires were up to, and what the 'Cuban Animals' really were. Ethan and Mckenzie were hiding behind an all-too familiar gravestone to Mckenzie. "Why this grave?" She asked.
"Why not this grave?" Ethan said, not getting it.
"Look at the name." Mckenzie ordered Ethan.
"Cole Marcus, loving son, brother, boyfriend, and friend." Ethan read off the tombstone. He gasped. "Oh my god, I-I had no idea. I-I mean I knew what happened but I didn't know that th-this was the grave oh my god I'm a horrible person, and you probably hate me. Oh my god I can't believe I did that I'm such a-"
