GHOST OF SOLUTIONS PAST

     Three days went by.

Three days since Lisa revealed she was the reincarnate of Annalisa. Sky didn't have an opinion on it. The situation just was. However, Iris had mixed feelings.

She shut herself in her room the whole time and wouldn't speak to anyone. He couldn't blame her. If the situation were reversed, he had no idea how he would function. But it wasn't and there was a task to complete. In his experience, time was a jewel.

Precious.

The opportunity to catch Zairian off guard was slowly slipping. He promised to help Iris kill him. He wouldn't go back on his word, especially not when there were only three months left in the year.

A ticking time bomb, he thought bitterly.

"You're kidding me!" Iris groaned.

Sky looked up to find her standing in her kitchen doorway with her arms crossed. Her hair was tied back in a messy ponytail and from the looks of her casual clothes, she wasn't expecting visitors. Her purple top, black shorts, and pink bunny slippers made her look adorable. The very pissed off look on her face, however, didn't.

It's about time, he thought and rose to his feet.

He sent Sue to retrieve her over half an hour ago and she was only getting there. It took him a lot less time to talk both Lisa and Mae into coming here back to back. With the deadline so close, they didn't have time for petty squabbles. Yes, Lisa made a mistake and sure Mae kept the fact she was a witch from Iris but there were much greater issues.

"What are they doing here?" Iris asked coldly.

"They're here because they're your friends and they care." Sue said gently by her side.

"That's nice." She muttered and turned on her heel.

"We have to talk about this some time." Lisa called after her.

Iris wheeled around and glowered at her. "Not today we don't."

"Tell me Drusilla," Sky voiced, "when do you plan on talking about it? If I remember correctly, your days are numbered."

He didn't mean to be so crude but that was the truth. They didn't have time for this. She didn't have time for this. Sky might be helping her but he never forgot that this was her battle to fight. Why had he gotten himself mixed up at all?

What if he couldn't deliver on his promise? No, he'd find a way. He always found a loophole. That was how he weaseled his way out of trouble each time. This was no different. Perhaps the stakes were higher but he'd manage.

"You don't have to lecture me about my death sentence." She hissed back.

"Then why are you acting so senselessly right now?"

"They lied to me!" Iris shouted. "You expect me to trust Lisa, the queen of curses? Or Mae, the source of secrets?"

"I didn't see either of you two lining up to share the big secret!" Mae retorted. "And it's not like I purposely didn't say anything. Your father specifically instructed Jake and I not to get involved magically. If you want to play the blame game, take it up with him."

"In my defense," Lisa looked between her friends, "I just remembered."

Iris scoffed. "Whatever."

She turned to leave and Sky shot forward. He stood between her and the doorway. There was no way he was letting her walk away from this. She needed all the help she could get. Who better than her two best friends who happened to be witches?
