Chapter 33

And so life goes on...

Teddy and Victoire continued their charade through the week. They spent their time acting through hatred, yet stealing kisses in stolen moments that they both cherished quite so. Behind the backs of their friends they shared silly faces and snuck glances that the other wasn't even aware of.

They did feel remorse, once. The guilt faded away when Lily and James showed interest in the not-so-couple. They kept begging both sides to share what had supposedly happened. Neither would, however. Teddy would blow them off and head somewhere else alone. Victoire would claim some ridiculous story about why she didn't feel like telling them anything before going to one of the others in the group.

Teddy and Vic did everything in their power to keep their long awaited romance a secret. A couple times, when the two lovebirds were heading out separately to be together, Teddy would nick the Marauder's Map from its creators without them noticing or being able to check up on the location of the two mortal enemies.

On one such meetup occasion, Teddy wasn't able to grab the magical parchment. A quick panic jolted through his mind before he calmed himself down and thought rationally. He jotted down a quick but sweet message and inconspicuously slipped it to Victoire. He then ran all the way to the Room of requirement. The only room the Marauders Map couldn't see.

Victoire showed up less than ten minutes later. Her smile was quite bright as she stepped into the room.

"The Gryffindor common room." she said, commenting on the decor. "I think it feels much more like a second home than the Ravenclaw common room could be to me."

"I think so." Teddy got up from the chair he was sitting in. He walked over to Victoire and pressed his lips to hers. He wrapped his arms around her body and smiled against her lips.

"I was wrong."she leaned back away from Teddy's face slightly. Her eyes raked over his whole face, taking in every detail.

"How so?" Victoire liked the way a small crease formed in between his eyebrows as he furrowed them.

"Gryffindor isn't as much of a home as you are." her voice was so quiet that she wasn't quite sure if he heard her. She was only sure when Teddy pulled her closer into his chest. He smelled like pine leaves with a hint of jasmine.

Suddenly, Teddy let out a gasp of surprise.

"What?" Vic once again looked up at him.

"I just realised something." Vic raised an eyebrow at him, silently begging him to continue. "Amortentia." he stated "I smelled chocolate and vanilla. I thought that the vanilla was apart of the chocolate. No. It was you. Always you."

Victoire silently stared at him. How she hadn't realised she longed to hear those words from Teddy. "I- I-" she stuttered "I feel the same way." She smiled. They stayed for a while in the Room of Requirement until the clock struck one AM. "I guess we should go back now." Vic said sadly. "Classes tomorrow and all."

"Yeah." Teddy reluctantly agreed. He wished he could have just stayed talking to Victoire forever. "They won't be up to see us." Teddy half asked, half said. "We can walk back together."

"I think so." Vic smiled at him "I'd love to walk with you." They shared another kiss before sneaking through the halls, only having to avoid Mrs.Norris once. When they got the Gryffindor common room, they split ways up opposite staircases. Each looking back over their shoulder once. Their eyes met and Teddy winked at his girlfriend. She blushed and continued to bed.

(A/N: Hi everyone! I'm so glad I managed to update for you. However, my laptop hasn't been fixed. If anything it got worse. My dad went away so it didn't even have a chance of getting better. Right now I'm using my mum's laptop but it frustrates me because its so different. It's Windows 7 for god's sake! I was only able to write about two paragraphs before I just got fed up, so that's what you're getting. Updates will still be slow, I'm sorry. -Jul)
