Chapter 43

More days passed. They turned into months. In the blink of an eye, people began branching out.

All four young adults living in Potter moved out. Victoire and Teddy finding a small flat together, James, who was conflicted for a bit of who to move in with, eventually moved in with Lily after Sirius threatened to hex him multiple times if he didn't.

Sirius eventually moved into a flat of his own and shared it with his newest obsession, a motorbike. It didn't take him long to find that it's original owner had been a wizard who had illegally place flying charms on the old thing. Delighted, Sirius cherished it.

Marlene had been disappearing into her work more and more. She still lived with her aunt but rarely appeared outside, save for her work.

Remus floated around, going from job to job. He was beginning to lose hope for a normal life. When with the others he tried to hide it behind a fake smile, but the others could tell. His full moons were evidentally wearing on him worse than with his companions of Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs. So many times, they offered their help, but Remus gave a poor excuse and closed his door to them. He wasn't doing well.

Peter, similar to Marlene, had been slipping. His claims were that his mother kept him on a tight leash due to the war, but when Peter started refusing to wear anything short of a long sleeves, even when temerpatures hit highs, it was clear to Vic and Teddy that he was deep within the Death Eaters. With their minds focused on saving Lily and James, they hadn't even thought to save Peter. They didn't know how to even go about helping him anymore.

Dorcas was still in the wind. The Auror department refused to search for her anymore, pronouncing her dead and leaving it at that. The Aurors of the group to it upon themselves to investigate it for themselves, but the only thing they found was that she wasn't in England anymore. From what they could tell, she wasn't even in Europe.

Alice and Frank were blissfully in love and eventually announced their engagement a year before their wedding. Lily and James followed suit and were married only three months after Alice and Frank.

The group started teasing Victoire and Teddy for holding off getting engaged, but to them, being married before their family had any idea of them being together seemed wrong. It seemed they had an unspoken agreement to wait until they returned to the 21st century.

It seemed in the blink of an eye, it was 1980 and Alice and Lily were both very, very, pregnant. When Alice was in St. Mungo's having her little boy, Victoire scared her quite a bit by asking to hold little Neville before Alice had even suggested the name to Frank. Lily laughed at the time, but less than twelve hours later, she was in the room next door having baby Harry, and Teddy did the same thing to her.

Both time travelers expressed the weird they felt in the situation. Victoire holding her future Herbology professor, and Teddy holding his future godfather. When they pointed that out, they were pretty much told to just shut up and enjoy the moment.

More time went by. Treylawney spoke her profecy and that sent both Lily and James and Alice and Frank into hiding. They had face Voldemort thrice and had a child born as the seventh month dies. There was no turning back.

Panic spread through the group as the war was at its bulk. Sirius went so far as to have a screaming match with Teddy as he begged at him to do something to stop the entire war. He eventually calmed down with the help of James, and apologized. Her said he knew that whatever Teddy had to do, it would be worth the cost.

Teddy wished he had chosen any other wording. He had begun to consider all their options. From what he could tell, their only options would be the hard option. There was no way for them to save Lily and James. At best, they might be able to save Alice and Frank.

For now, he worked on his secret project. It had taken him all of the time since he had taken up the project to find out what he needed and what had gone wrong with the spell when Victoire had first done it.

1. The spell had to do with the lunar cycle. It's at his strongest at the full moon.

2. The number of people mattered. The more people, the further you could go.

It took Teddy so long to find this all out because of the type of spell. It was and old spell from the Rocky Mountains of North America, and most English wizards thought of it as horse play and took none of it seriously, therefor, there was nothing to help Teddy in his research. Also it took him a while to find all the papers that Vic had stored away without her knowing. He didn't want he feeling even more homesick with the idea of having a way home yet not using it. All Teddy had to do know was tell Victoire his mess of a plan.
