Entering the War Room, Caspian saw a translucent figure in the corner. "Speak being," Caspian ordered. The figure stared at Caspian and tried opening it's mouth but couldn't. "As your King, I command you to speak!" Caspian mid yelled. Lucy flinched. Andrew's eyes closed tightly at the sudden out burst. Edmund gulped. The figure looked terrified. "I speak from Aslan, my King," The figure squeaked, "The darkness is coming. The big bad wolf. She is coming too. She, who, made Narnia a cold and treacherous place." Edmund, Lucy and Caspian looked at one another and knew the warning. Edmund gulped again and pulled at his collar. "Jadis." He muttered. Andrew looked at Edmund in surprise. So, the Jadis person he spoke of, was real. The figure's eyes darted towards Caspian and said there was a message from the thought deceased witch. Caspian nodded once to let the figure continue and asked what the message was. "This is only the beginning." It said then vanished in a electric blue whisp of smoke. Lucy let out a shaky breath and said she knew something was wrong. Edmund started muttering about how they could prepare an army of old Narnians and fight her in Beruna. Andrew was asking what could happen. Caspian was pacing up and down.
Later that evening when the castle was mostly asleep, Lucy lay awake in her chambers and thought about the warning. It was impossible for the White Witch to return as Edmund had stopped her resurrection years ago. Then it dawned on her. What if she had a sister! Lucy thought. Now fully awake at the revelation, she pulled back the covers and climbed out of bed. She crept carefully to the door of her room and opened it. The hinges squeaked noisily. Looking around, she hoped the noise hadn't woken Caspian or Edmund for that matter. Sure that the noise hadn't woken the sleeping Kings, she crept carefully and quickly towards the library she had seen as Caspian showed them around the castle. The doors were partially open already and she slid inside. The flamed torches lit the room in a dim light but it was just bright enough for her to see vast shelves full of books about Narnia and it's history. She darted her eyes around and then made her way over to one of the vast bookshelves. Narnia History: Volume III, Battles of Narnia, Enemies of Old Narnians. Lucy slowly and cautiously pulled the book from the shelf. The book weighed a lot more than Lucy first thought and the book landed heavily on the table below the shelf. She prayed that nobody heard. Pulling the book open, she turned each page and studied each and every page. There was a page on black dwarfs. Skimming through she saw illustrations of battles that she recognised. The First Battle of Beruna. She saw a illustrated Edmund slicing his sword through the Witch's wand. She saw an illustration of Aslan with flecks of gold in his mane. Then she saw it. The page she was looking for. It read:
Jadis was a proclaimed Queen of Narnia who ruled during the Hundred Year Winter. She was an enchantress who had a heart of pure ice and her flawless complexion was of white ice and snow. Her stare was deathly. Her staff or wand had the ability to turn any living Narnian or mortal into pure stone. The stone could be lifted only by the breath of the Great Lion himself, Aslan. She was known as the White Witch by old Narnians from the Eastern Sea to the Great Northern Wood. She was killed in the First Battle of Beruna and was defeated by High King Peter and Aslan's Army. There have been several sightings of her spirit and her supporters have long gone. After the Kings and Queens of old vanished, during The Golden Age, Telmarines invaded and there were more supporters of Jadis out there. Little is known about Jadis but records of a younger witch whom may have been living with the proclaimed Queen, show that she may also be dangerous.
Lucy shut the book after reading the page. There was a younger sister. Maybe Jadis wasn't the threat. Maybe, it was this unknown sister. Maybe. Just maybe.
