Later that day whilst Edmund and Andrew were talking to Tristan and a few army generals, Lucy was in her chambers brushing her hair when there was a knock at the door. Caspian entered the room and walked towards her. "How are you?" Caspian asked softly as he rested a hand on her shoulder. "Okay I guess. It's just not really how I wanted to return." she admitted. Caspian sighed and agreed. She looks beautiful. Caspian removed his hand from her shoulder and moved towards her bed. Sitting down, he sighed a shaky sigh and put his head in his hands. Lucy watched him from her dresser. She smiled sadly at him and slowly stood up. "Caspian," she whispered sitting down beside him. He raised his head and he looked longingly into her blue eyes and saw Susan but he also saw the beautiful young woman who sat beside him. She was beautiful, maybe more beautiful than Susan. He looked at her. Her smile was perfect. Her hair was a gorgeous dark brownie caramel colour which flowed past her shoulders. Her outfit consisted of beautiful pale grey-blue silk with burned gold. It reminded Caspian of what Susan had worn, the last time he'd seen her. Somehow the gown suited Lucy more. "I'm sorry Lucy." Caspian whispered back. Lucy smiled sadly at him and playfully bumped his shoulder with hers. Caspian chuckled and bumped her back. He looked into the young Queen's eyes again. He raised his hand and put his thumb and fore finger underneath her chin and together they leant in. His lips brushed against hers. The feeling of his lips against hers was magical. But it was cut short by the sound of footsteps. "Ahem- sorry to disturb your Majesties but King Edmund asked for King Caspian." a voice sounded. Caspian and Lucy turned and saw a young man, a little older than Lucy, standing in the doorway. Caspian cleared his throat awkwardly and said, "Thank you Elijah." Lucy looked down and away embarrassed. Caspian nodded towards the boy and Elijah left.
Walking into the Great Hall, Edmund was showing Andrew how to handle a sword, Caspian entered cautiously. "You asked for me." He said. Edmund nodded. He explained how he defeated Jadis before and asked Caspian if he could construct an army. The three men soon were discussing how to defeat the new evil. Unbeknownst to them, Lucy was listening in from behind the doors. "Another thing. I don't want my sister being involved. She could get hurt." Edmund said still staring at a map of Beruna. Caspian for rowed his eyebrows and argued that Lucy was a fierce warrior and skilled at archery. "She could help us!" He exclaimed. Edmund looked at Caspian and sighed, "Look, I know it's your kingdom now and your people but as the earlier monarch, I have a say in regards of Lucy." Caspian growled slightly to himself. Suddenly Lucy walked into the room and the three men looked up. Their eyes widened. Still wearing the gown, the sun and slight breeze caught it perfectly. Her hair danced gently and slowly in the breeze and she took a deep breath. "I want to help Edmund. Please. Peter would've let me." she asked looking at her brother straight in the eye. Edmund felt guilty that he wasn't allowing her to fight as he agreed with Caspian. In the Battle of Aslan's Howe, she and Susan had fought together bravely. He looked back at the map and said sharply, "No. I won't allow it." Lucy opened her mouth to protest and argued how he was King Edmund the Just. She added emphasis to the word 'just'. "I said no!" Edmund roared. Never in his life had Edmund raise his voice at her. Neither had Caspian, who'd seen the effects of dark magic on Edmund, nor had Andrew. Lucy gulped and fled the room, in tears. "You're an ass Ed, she didn't mean any harm." Andrew said as he left the room to follow Lucy. Caspian sighed and told Edmund to go and apologise to Lucy. After taking a few deep breaths, he, also, left the room until there was only Caspian left in the room.
