This Is What It Takes

In which you and Shawn go on vacation to Alaska, but turns into a complete disaster.

Finally you and Shawn arrive in Alaska. You both decided to go because you wanted to get away from your life for a while. Plus you and Shawn have been arguing a lot lately. But its only because life is stressful. Bills, work, and keeping a relationship together can be difficult to do. But you love Shawn and you know he loves you. So basically you are here to try to bring the light back into your relationship.

When you arrive at the wooden cabin you guys are staying in, you take off your coat. Shawn takes his off and sits on the bed.

"So what do you want to do today?" You ask excited.

"Uh. Nothing really." He answers.

"Shawn we are in Alaska, and you don't want to do anything?" You question.

"I'm actually really tired. It was a long flight." He replies but it just sounds like an excuse to you.

"Okay." You respond quietly.

He gets up and leaves the room. Going to another room in the cabin. You breathe out and pick up a brochure to see what you guys could do tomorrow.

The Next Day

All last night Shawn stayed in the other room, so you didn't sleep together. Although you are dedicated to setting this relationship back to the way it was. He used to talk to you all the time. You guys used to have fun all the time. You did everything together. But now it just feels like its a wall between you two.

You go into the room to see Shawn talking on his phone.

"Alright. Yeah we should do that." He says to the person on the other line.

"Wait, I have to go." He says looking at you, realizing you are there.

"Yeah. Talk to you soon." He says before hanging up.

He puts his phone down and asks you, "What do you want?"

"Who was that?" You question.

"Just work, but what you want?" He rudely asks you again.

"Well since yesterday you were tired. I thought we could do something today." You inform him.

"Oh really? Like what?" He asks.

"Well we could go skiing, mountain biking, kayaking, or-" You begin but he interrupts you.

"No. I don't think so." He says.

"What? Why not? We are in Alaska and you don't want to do anything?" You say but he doesn't answer.

You look at him but he's on his phone. You walk over to him and snatch it out of his hands.

"Shawn! Are you even listening?" You shout.

"Okay! I'm listening Y/n." He tells you throwing his hand up.

"Look...We went on this trip for a reason. We are supposed to be trying to approve our relationship. I'll do whatever it takes to be back the way we were. I miss us. I miss you. Just talk to me. You've changed a lot and I don't know why, but we can fix it, together." You tell him touching his hand.

"Do you love me?" He asks you.

"Yes. With all of me." You assure him.

"Then if you love me why are you trying to " fix" me? Aren't you supposed to love me and my flaws? If you love me then don't try to change me." He responds.
