John:
We waited patiently where we were told to. Molly intended to make a show of introducing Sherlock to Jim, apparently.
"And, voila! Sherlock Holmes" Molly declared, appearing seemingly out of nowhere.
"It's really you, isn't it!" Someone, I assume Jim, laughed "I read your blog and truly amazing stuff"
No wait. I knew that voice. The face, which was hidden mostly in the shade of a particularly large tree, was familiar. The dark demeanour... I knew exactly what I knew it from.
"No" I thought, probably out loud, die to the fact everyone looked at me. Well, except for Sherlock. Clearly he recognised him too, as his eyes were fixed on Jim, cold and unforgiving.
                              "I'm sorry?" Jim asked, smiling.
"Now, you can't be here. No, you can't be dating Molly. No, you can't be walking freely. What the hell happened!?" I fumed.
"John? What are you talking about?" Molly muttered.
"First year. Remember first year. All those classes we missed due to meetings with Dumbledore. All those ministry workers coming to the school? All the publicity we got here?" Sherlock reminded her. "That was him. All him. He made that all happen"
"I think there's a mistake here" Jim insisted.
"Unless you've got an absolutely, completely identical copy of yourself somewhere who practices dark magic and decides that tormenting eleven year olds is fun, then I'm not mistaking" Sherlock retorted "there's a freckle in your right hand between your ring finger and your pinky. There's no way I'm just mistaken"
"Why would you say that?" Molly demanded.
"Because I'd rather not have to deal with him again. I thought he was punished. Why would Dumbledore let him in the school?" I replied. Sherlock nodded.
"Second chances are important to Dumbledore" he replied.
"Why would you be saying this? He's only fifteen! And he just moved here from America! This was supposed to be fun! But of course you had to ruin it" Molly cried before running back towards the castle.
"What is wrong with you?" Jim finished before chasing her.
It seems that this year was set out to be... Interesting, to say the least.
Although that was only the first of our problems...
