" A ship is safe in the harbor, but that's not what ships are for."

- William G.T. Shedd

Evelyn's POV

My thoughts are answered when I dock the boat and make my way to the same room that they were in before. I don't even glimpse at all the gold littering the floor like I did last time. For that is not what I'm looking for anymore. What I'm looking for happens to be the man with the dreadlocks and the red handkerchief. And I happen to find him just as I thought I would. Fighting Barbossa.

Where else could Jack be? I'm tempted to call out his name but I realize that that is probably the dumbest idea I've ever had. 1) That would catch him off guard and would give Barbossa the perfect chance to kill him which sends literal shudders through me. Dammit, why? And, 2) I've got pirates already rushing towards me that need taking care of.

Just as I turn around, and start fighting one of the pirates who has taken notice of me in the short time that I've been here, I hear Will calling my name. Relief rushes through me as I stab this man, and look over to Will but that's when I remember that these are cursed pirates.

He smirks at me as he slowly pulls my sword out of his totally wounded but totally healing at the same time, stomach and he laughs. Just as he's about to stab me though, I duck out of the way, ending up behind the bloke, knocking his head hard with a huge painting or...some gold treasure, and this knocks him out. Grabbing my sword from his undead hands, I finally turn around to see a blur of fabric because just then Will grabbed hold of me and hugged me.

I wrap my arms around him as well, basking in his familiarity and I smile to myself. He's alive...Elizabeth is too, and you're gonna get them back together.

"You're alive!" His smile is contagious as he pulls away and we both don't even look as we knock two more pirates out with what we're holding in our hands. They fall like rocks but we're still not looking at them.

"I could say the same to you," I laugh and he does as well. Right when we turn back to see the action of whatever is going on in this cave right now, my eyes catch sight of Jack and I swear my heart stops. I think I hear Elizabeth run into the cave as well, but I can't be sure because all I can see is Jack.

He's stumbled into the moonlight, and Barbossa is also staring at him, their battle momentarily paused as we all register what we're seeing right now. It's Jack and he's...well he's not Jack. I watch in horror as a skeleton in Jack's clothing plays with the gold medallion between his fingers.

"Couldn't resist, mate," I hear him from across the room as he murmurs to Barbossa. Then, all hell breaks loose again when they commence fighting and the entire room tears their attention away from Jack and back to fighting one another. For some god awful reason, I can't stop watching Jack as he fights, as he goes in and out of the moonlight pockets, turning from the Jack I know, to the cursed skeleton.

My heartbeat quickens when he takes notice of me but he doesn't look for long when he turns back around and continues his fight. At this, I realize that I'm just standing here, and miraculously no one has killed me yet.

I jump back into battle mode. Instantly turning around, I assist Will in shoving two pirates into each other and they both impale each other with their swords. Pushing them into the moonlight, they are suddenly distracted with fighting each other rather than us so we sneak away.

Suddenly, a pirate rushes up to Will and smiles at him terrifyingly.

"I'm gonna teach you the meaning of pain." He growls at him.

"You like pain?" I get ready to fight the pirate when in that second, he's whacked to the ground by a huge, heavy looking staff. When he falls, Elizabeth is revealed behind him, but I don't see the rest of the crew.

"Try wearing a corset." She finishes my rhetorical question and I see the smile growing on Will's face at the sight of her. Just then, three pirates

come up to fight us but as we push them further and further back into the moonlight, Elizabeth stabs the staff through all three of them when the time is right and they're all standing next to each other.

Quickly, I stick a lit bomb into the middle man's stomach and the three of us push them out of the moonlight. He searches around his stomach for the bomb, but only for a moment before he looks back up to us with a desperate look on his face.

"No fair," He cries and with that, we all run off, hearing the explosion go off.

I watch Jack look to Will and nod, my head whips over to see Will race to the chest and Elizabeth is fighting off one of the pirates. He's doing it. He's going to kill Barbossa. I just have to keep Barbossa from killing Jack first before Will can lift the curse.

As I run over to the pair fighting, I fight the urge to call out to Jack and ignore the way my breathing is getting louder and my heartbeat is quickening. I just have to get to Jack. Right when I pull the pirate off of Elizabeth that I pass by and we both stab him and he falls into the water, obviously not dead yet, I see Jack throwing something shiny to Will who catches it out of the air. The medallion.

I notice the way blood drips from Jack's hand as he stares at Will with a glint in his eye. Jack just repaid his blood debt owed to the chest...now it's Will's turn. Just as I'm about to reach Barbossa and Jack, Barbossa's gun is out, aimed right at my head, stopping me dead in my tracks.

Jack's eyes go wide and I feel Elizabeth make an abrupt stop a few feet behind me. A gunshot sounds and I close my eyes, awaiting the pain of a gunshot. That's when I see Jack is holding a gun in his hand and I realize I'm not in searing pain like I thought I would be. My eyes dart down to my body and I find that...I'm not shot.

My eyes slowly trail up to Barbossa and I see his head whip over to Jack's, who's arm is still aimed right at Barbossa.

"Ten years you carry that pistol and now you waste your shot." He has a slight smirk in his voice but when Will speaks, it's wiped out.

"He didn't waste it," That's when everything goes dead silent as we all slowly turn to see Will dropping the two medallions into the pile in the chest. My heart starts beating normally when I look back to Barbossa who is now dropping his sword and opening his shirt to see the bloody wound now dripping intensely from his chest. I take another step forward and I see Jack holding up a hand for me to stay back. For some odd reason, I actually obey.

"I feel..." Barbossa begins, his first words as an uncursed man, "Cold." An uncursed dead man, that is. His first words become his last as he falls to the floor, an apple rolling from his finally dead hands. I can practically hear the exhale of breath in the room as we all finally realize that he's dead...the curse has been lifted.
