Chapter 16- Skyler the hybrid

"What did you do?" Zane asked as we all watched over Skyler's unconscious body that was laying in Castine's bed.

"Why does it always have to be me?"

"Because you cause everything" Castine responded as she touched Skyler's forehead. "She's ice cold. Matter of time before she dies"

"Well it's settled" Sam said walking around the bed. "Someone bit her"

"You don't know that"

"That's the only way for the spell to come into full formation and she's dying. Either someone bit her or she's not as perfect as you people thought she was"

Everyone looked at each other and I kept my eyes on Skyler.

"I know I didn't bite her, I thought about it but I didn't do it"

"Sam, Alice see if you can find something on this. Hopefully we can figure out what happened" They nodded and poofed out of the room in a gray cloud of dust.

"How was the party?" Zane asked and Castine went out to the bathroom leaving us as I sat on the edge of the bed.

"She did what she was supposed to, She fed and then she got angry and.."

"Please tell me she didn't do what I think"

I looked at her. "She let her anger take over her advantage, She almost killed her victim and she stopped the heart beat of another person"

"She's not fit to be one of us, I tried to let her fit in I tried and I wanted her to be one of us. If she's Just kill-"

"Stop" I said raising my voice slightly. "You think I don't know she isn't capable of this? I know she's not.. I Just don't wanna believe it"

"You need to focus on saving us and this war Instead of feelings for a girl"

I moved her hair out of her face not replying. I won't deny I've been focusing mostly on her but I have to. If I don't then she might get hurt.

"Her brother's gone. What am I supposed to do? Helping her is the least I can do"

"Not exactly" Alice said as her and Sam came back in the room.

"We've found out something you might wanna know about"

"Like what?" Castine asked with a smile on her face. I looked at her weirdly and ignored it wanting to know what they found out.

"Apparently she was misplaced a while back and relocated here. Her family didn't wanna bring her to back to the lifestyle she was welcomed to so they let her stay here to be normal. She had two brothers all dropped off here. She lived with one but the other one she didn't know in exchange to be like others"

I furrowed my eyebrows. "All these well-educated words are really upsetting me, Get to the point"

Alice sighed. "She's from our world"
