My life was good, Yeah it wasn't perfect but at least I was alive. Now I'm a freak, I'm not human. Since the day I met him he seemed weird. And Now I'm not human because of him.
It all started with the day he walked into class and he was introduced...
"A creature that becomes a wolf-like beast during the nights of full moons, but is human otherwise." I read out loud while reading one of the books on hybrids as Zylen walked around me with the front of his thumb in his mouth.
"That's the whole thing you were saying, The whole full moon thing with Jace, Yes it's possible for them to transform whenever they want but it's not likely"
"Why isn't it likely?" I asked as I looked up from the book.
"Well have you ever seen a werewolf and a human interact? Or for a human to turn into a furry beast in front of everyone? They wouldn't want the chance of being killed"
"You said vampire's are accused as being blood sucking demons but you prefer wolves as furry beast, Someone's a hypocrite" I said mumbling the last part.
He snatched the book and rolled his eyes at me. "I'm not a hypocrite, Have you thought about how we portray humans?"
"What? Normal? Or people that eat real food?"
He chuckled. "Humans can say we are strange beings who roam the earth looking for prey but they do the same. Eating animals, slashing, killing them to eat them. That's sick. We don't eat we drink, we drain"
"But you drain humans, we eat animals not each other"
He laughed. "No sunshine we drain humans and they eat animals, Besides we only do what's right, You have the choice to be vegans or vegetarians so you don't harm animals. If we don't feed we die"
I sighed knowing he was right as I opened another book. "How about we figure out what Micah is"
"A human-vampire hybrid, also known as half-vampire, vampire hybrid, half-human and half-vampire, and half-immortal, is the offspring of a female human and a male vampire. It is generally beyond the ability of most vampires to be this close to a human physically and still resist the lure of her blood." He read out loud while pacing.
"So that means he's both of those"
He looked at me cocked his head to the side. "You feel for him?"
I made a face. "I what?"
He sat down and sighed. "You.. Feel strongly for him?"
"Love?"
He nodded and I laughed.
"Do you not know how to say that word?"
"It's not a word I use often.. I never said it before"
"You've never loved anyone before? Not even your parents?"
His eyes turned bright blue as he turned his head breaking eye contact.
"Follow me" He said standing up and walking to one of the shelves. "You said you wondered how the history started?"
"Yeah, If I have to ignore my boyfriend I'd like to know why."

"Years ago, Actually centuries ago there were two people who appeared in different places. The Vampire and the werewolf. Once the Vampire named conscious woke up she could see everything, From the world being made to everyone and what was happening. She could speak like them and she learned how to blend in with them. She spent her time looking at the souls of humans trying to fit in. Then the wolf showed up, Once they met they hated each other like fought all the time." He said and I nodded listening.
"Eventually the rest of us came and so did the rest of the werewolves, hiding amongst humans trying to fit in while fighting on the low, eventually one person of each side fell in love. Maria and Ryan. They're not exactly popular where I'm from. They had a baby and that baby had a baby and it continued until hybrids were made. The problem was we discovered Maria was part human. And after that we decided to all get along.. That was until the day everything backfired"
I watched his eyes turned a glowing white as he sat down and clamped his hands together.
"It was my parents and Jace's.. They hated each other. Vampires were only supposed to befriend warlocks. Not date them. My mom was banished by Jace's dad and she didn't agree so she stayed, she fought and she did what she thought she had to. A war started. The hybrids sided with us and the wolves hated it. They were furious, So they killed every single one. My mom told me there was one more left but of course I didn't believe her. It couldn't have been possible. But apparently anythings possible"
"Do you think he knows?" I asked easing the silence that appeared after he explained everything.
"No, The way he was oblivious to everything means he was raised to be a human, But not for long"

"This isn't a good idea" I said as I followed Zylen who was walking down the sidewalk.
"It's a great idea, Besides you love parties any other time"
"Yes" I trailed. "But this is a carnival where other people will be. I don't want what happened last time to happen again"
He smirked and looked down at me, His eyes now light blue. "Then you might wanna control yourself"
"And how am I supposed to do that?"
He stopped walking and looked at me. "Change"
"What?"
"Switch your eye color"
"I can't do-" He rolled his eyes and grabbed my necklace as the color switched to light blue.
"There" He smiled and handed me a mirror. I looked into it and rolled my eyes that I couldn't see myself.
"Sorry" He laughed and gave me a different one so I could look at my eye color which changed so did my once black hair that's now brown.
"How did you-"
He did jazz hands as sparks flew from his fingertips. "Magic"
I rolled my eyes. "Can we just go?" I laughed when I inhaled and my vision zoomed to the carnival where this man cut his hand on a nail attached to a booth. My pupils must've dilated because Zylen was currently staring at me.
"No, You need to calm down. Once your eyes turn red I have no control over you and you have no control over yourself"
I sighed and calmed myself down.
"Skyler" Lucy said as she jogged over to me. "Hey, Who's your friend?"
"Hey, This is Zylen"
She smiled and he reached to shake her hand. "I do hugs not handshakes"
She wrapped her arms around his neck and his eyes turned pitch black as his pupils dilated.
"Zylen no"
His fangs came out as he stared at Lucy who was trying to move. He glanced at me and I could see the vein in her neck twitch as he opened his mouth.
