Chapter 41: Keeping Secrets till we die

"Excuse me ma'am has a woman been seen here with Uhm. Hell me?" I asked a waitress as she poured coffee into a glass. After reading Skyler's latest 'tweet' she mentioned something about a diner date. Whatever the hell that is.

"Hoping this is rhetorical question"

"Well hope doesn't do shit, Now please answer the question"

She looked up at me and rolled her eyes before placing the coffee pot back. "Well Mr. Amnesia I did see you here earlier with this beautiful girl I figure is your girlfriend. Then you ran off when she tried to kiss you" She chuckled. "Some boyfriend"

My eyes widened as I sighed. Closing my eyes I swiped my index finger down making her fall to the ground.

Have you ever just hated someone so much? Like that type of hate where as soon as you see that person you have to fight them. That's my brother and I. Sadly we have the hate where as soon as we see one another someone dies.

Taking out my phone I called Skyler's number as I proceeded to walk out of the diner.

"Hey, Shocked you're calling me"

"What? Oh yeah about what happened earlier I apologize I should've kiss you and you're so cute sunshine blah blah blah, Where did you see me go after I left the diner?"

"Uhm. What?"

I rolled my eyes. "Where. Did. I. Go?"

"I don't know, You just left. Is something wrong? Did you get thrown against a tree again"

"No I didn't get thrown, Something strange is about to go down and I'm trying to make sure you're great. Are you great?"

"I'm amazing, Zane's here with me"

"Marvelous, Now lock your doors and don't allow anyone inside"

"Why?"

"Because" I yelled then groaned. "I'm sorry for yelling but if I come to your door and try to come in but can't. Just shut the door"

"I'm so confused right now you were just here"

My face dropped. "I what?"

"You said you had business to take care of. I thought you were playing with me so I invited you in"

"Shit, Shit, Shit. Skyler sunshine. Tell Zane I said to take you back to my house. That wasn't me that was my brother" I said before hanging up not allowing her to say "Wait What?"

I ran outside until I went behind the building seeing some woods. Going inside I looked up and let the vision of Dimitri dropping a body into the dumpster show clear as day right in front of me.

"Dimitri!" I yelled to the top of my lungs making him come in front of me within milliseconds.

"About time you called. Is everything okay?"

I grabbed him by his shirt and threw him across the field. Jumping up I landing next to him and picked him back up by his shirt punching him over and over.

"Stay out of my life"

He put his hand up in front of my fist turning his hand to right making my fist bend around.

I yelled as he jumped to his feet then gestured to behind me throwing me allowing me to hit another tree.

Panting I watched as he began to stroll towards me tauntingly. I put my hand up and closed my eyes.

"Entfessle das Böse und schütze alle würdig" I chanted lowly as Dimitri lifted into the air with fire shooting from his mouth and eyes. As he screamed in pain I watched him rotate while the chant continued.

He dropped to the ground with smoke coming from his body. Running over to him I put my hand into his chest gripping his heart making him groan again.

"Stay the hell away from Skyler"

"Or what?" He groaned. "You'll kill me? You've had so many opportunities in the past yet you just ignored them like the foolish little bitch you are"

I turned my hand and he screamed.

"I'm not the same person I was in 1732, I'm different. I actually believed in myself while you just run around causing pain amongst everybody. You let others feel pain because you feel guilty for not being there when our mother died. Feel the pain yourself"

He looked at me with a blank face. "Who told you that? Hope?" He asked while popping the P. "Man. She was delicious. Wish she wasn't so naïve though. Would've been fun watching her try to fight for her life"

I shook my head and let him go. He panted while looking up at me.

"You're right. I wouldn't kill you Dimitri. I do hate you though I will admit that. It's like you were never in my life but you like to call yourself a older brother. You're not an older brother. But what you are is" I said before snatching the necklace from around his neck. "Evil and conniving. So tell me why you're here or I'll let the sun bake you dry, And I will do that"

"Fine, Skyler is more than you know. Did you also know that although she can protect you and give you energy she can also do it for others?"

"Get to the point"

"Ali wants her for himself. He wants to be with her in order to absorb her energy and become stronger than you. You may have slept with her and possibly thought you got some power but that was just hormones. There's only one way to get all of it"

"Yeah and what is that?"

"Killing her" He yelled as he slammed his head to the ground and groaned still in pain. "You have to kill her and drink her blood to take everything and then my young idiotic brother you will be able to kill all of your enemies with just one snap of your wobbly little fingers"

"Who else knows of this?" I asked and he remained silent watching the sunrise I ignored him scream in pain then run behind the diner where the shade was.

"Now answer the question Dimitri or you'll be spending the night here"

"You don't want to know Zylen. I know how much family means to you I told you this"

"I said tell me" I demanded while raising my voice.

"Just so you know, That doesn't scare me you weak little bitch"

"Okay bye" I said started to walk away when he yelled wait.

"It's Zane. He knows everything"
