Chapter 39: Brothers of destruction

"Dimitri, Brother it's an emergence-" Zylen started to say as he rushed into the room to find his brother hiding something behind his back. He placed his hands to the side and tilted his head trying to see what it was.

"I'll be right there, Please tell mother it'll only take a moment"

"A moment for what? You know what she'll do if she finds you doing magic"

"And who are you? Let's not forget who's the oldest" Dimitri stated as he let the ball of fire in his hand disappear before walking past his younger brother.

"You may be the oldest but you're also the most foolish, Only a complete moron would completely dishonor- Uh please" Zylen said trying to breathe as Dimitri squeezed his hand around his throat.

"Save me the lecture of me cursing the family name, the Rose's couldn't care less about me nor you" He said before throwing Zylen to the floor. "So do us both a favor and stop kissing their asses everytime they give you a job well done"

"She has to be there Zane!" I yelled over the phone as I shut my front door.

"Well she's not, I don't know what you expect me to do."

"Look harder that's what I'm expecting! You know Ali so figure out where the hell he might be or I swear I'll rip all of your hearts out if I don't get my girlfriend back in less than an hour" I said before hanging up. I heard laughing as I walked past the sofa.

Taking two steps back I turned my head and looked at the person sitting down shockingly unimpressed.

"What the hell are you doing here Dimitri?"

"I can't say hello?" He asked while standing up and coming face to face with me.

"After bullying me until insanity I'd say you're not welcomed in my life.. Never was"

He laughed. "Damn I must've been gone a long ass time if my wimp of a baby brother is talking back to me"

"Wimp? I'm the one who watched our actual mother die. Not compel some family to take me in as their son. You tried to replace her with the Rose's and then you turned around and killed them. You're just a waste of life and I want you out" I stated as I began walking away only to have him block my path.

"That's not a way to say hello to me Zylen. Let's not forget I only tried to do you a favor. I know how much family means to you"

"Family is no longer by blood because of you! I don't even share my last name with anyone or even talk about my family let alone that horrible person you are that I had to deal with for centuries"

"It was a privilege to be in my presence. Or did you forget how much of a influence I was on you Zylen Rose"

"Do not call me that. I am not and never will be related to you!"

He laughed once again as he tilted his head at me and examined my face looking for an expression until his mouth opened shocked and he laughed even harder.

"My baby brother is in love, Who fucking knew? I say this is grounds for a celebration Don'tcha think?"

I shrugged him off as he grabbed my arm. As a reflex I turned and pushed him against the wall. Balling my fist into his shirt I pinned him against the wall.

"Why are you here?"

"I can't say hi?"

I banged his head against the wall and he groaned. "Answer the question correctly"

He pushed me off of him and growled. "Don't put your man boy hands on me. Why I'm here you'll find out soon. As for now.. "He smirked. "I just want to figure out how horrible and cliché your life has become"

"No, Dimitri" I started before be grabbed me and turned my head around until I fell seeing black.

"Why can't I just go back to the village? I can't continue living here" Zylen said to hope a friend of the witch who wiped his memory. Sadly not good enough since the memories of Skyler started to slowly flood back.

"Because if you do Ali might kill you.. I can't take that chance"

"He doesn't even know I'm alive, Mitri will be the death of me before anyone else ever has the chance anyway"

"Dimitri is a great brother, He just feels bad for not being there when your mother died. He feels bad so he wants to take care of you"

"But Hope-"

"Just try to play nice. I'll be back later, Bye Zylen"

Zylen shook his head as she left without turning back just a glance. Once she was out of sight he sat down and stared at his hands as they began to tremble. A blue light formed slowly in the palm of his right hand. Lifting his hand he looked at the cabinet across the barn and swiped his hand left opening the doors. Smiling he swiped right closing them again.

Beginning to open them again hearing the scream of a woman scared him making the cabinet accidently fall over. Ignoring the mess he ran outside seeing the house on fire and Dimitri walking out carrying their fake mother.

"What did you do? Why is the house on fire?!"

"Shut up! We have to get out of here. Help me take her"

"Put her down. She did nothing wrong. Why must you do bad all the time?"

Dimitri looked at Zylen and growled. "I said help me or I'll destroy you!"

"No, I'm tried of following you around and watching you kill innocent people who can't even fight for themselves because their compelled not to. You're just a killer. A waste of power. Something our parents hoped you wouldn't be. No longer will I be apart of this. Hide the body yourself" Zylen said as he began leaving the crime scene with his brother yelling after him. Hearing the body drop and expecting Dimitri to snap his neck Zylen turned around and beat him to it.

He watched Dimitri's body hit the floor. "I'm done being apart of your life. We are no longer brothers"
