Chapter 37: The truth about that day

I looked at Lucy unable to move or say anything to her, Hell to anyone around me. Ignoring the fact Zylen keeps trying to speak to me and Sam keeps trying to make jokes about the entire situation. A once dead girl, No my once dead best friend stands in front of me laughing and talking to Alice and Castine like nothing ever happened. Like she wasn't dead Just a couple of weeks ago--Almost a month-- Maybe she wasn't dead if she's right here like nothing ever even happened. Then again I did see her body laying down in a closet of a cafe bleeding and lifeless.. Unless that was a fake.

"I won't just stand here and act like you weren't dead" I said getting attention from the others who looked away feeling awkward for the moment. Lucy stopped laughing and turned her head at me with a smile.

"I wouldn't expect you to do that, I know all of this is very confusing for you"

"You know? You were my normal human best friend who had no idea what was going on with my life or what Micah was, And then you die viciously and have your body laying in a closet brutality and now you're here breathing and laughing in my face, My friends faces. What the hell happened?"

She placed her glass down and crossed her leg still smiling at me. "Fine, Micah and I knew each other a very long time and I was never his sister, Mainly a close friend. Little did he know what I was-"

"Which is? One of us?"

"No, But I am just like Zylen's father, I'm a warlock.. Witch, Whatever you want to call me. I can detect the future and exactly what might happen. Putting a spell on Micah and his family made myself seem like a sister when I really wasn't. He had no memory of our friendship Just memories of me growing up with him. I used my access to pin point when he would finally figure out his true identity which I accidentally found out once I stumbled across Zylen and his little stake out following you everywhere. When I told you he lost his phone I lied, I just wanted to scare you"

I rolled my eyes as she laughed along with castine who seemingly doesn't like me at all.

"Anyway, When he found out about his real humanity I followed him to your house and heard the argument, Unshockingly Getting caught by Ali who kidnapped me and tried to feed me to my own fake brother who had no idea I couldn't die and saw everything coming, The body you saw was a fake that I made Ali and Micah think was real. I spent days in their walls listening to plans and schemes. You may think they have all this power over us but they have a weak link which is Nate who does whatever Ali tells him to do without a second guess. Being independent is hard for him. Once he thinks someone else is much stronger he'd leap sides faster than a chicken crossing the road"

"I don't care about Nate or Ali and his minions. You could've easily manipulated Micah without having to drag me into it"

She nodded as she stood up and went towards me grabbing both of my hands with a sad and knowing expression. I felt somewhat happy she didn't have mood eyes like the rest of my group. It's become annoying and distracting and honestly confusing if I don't have the color sheet Zane gave to me.

"I know I didn't have to, And I'm sorry that you think I used you and lied to you. Sky I really think of you as a best friend regardless of the truth and my situation. I'm only out of hiding now to help you, You are my friend and what you deserve is someone who cares about you"

"I have that without you coming back into my life all of a sudden. You want to give all of this information away then why don't you march over to Micah and tell him what's happening?"

She sighed and let go of my hands. "Because I cannot without him trying to kill me once again. The most I can do is try to help you all. While Nate is weak he is also very up to date with technology and the hacking abilities. He can do a lot of shit I wish I could do with one click of a computer"

"Then you're as useless as you were gone"

She looked at me hurt opening her mouth to speak but closed it and looked down as Alice stepped up interrupting out conversation that I forgot was in front of them in a busy drama loving club full of blood suckers.

"Skyler I don't want to come in between you two, But we need all the help we can get before this spirals out of control and something happens that we cannot bounce back from, Putting this petty feud in the way will only put us in jeopardy, You have to understand"

"I don't have to do a damn thing"

"Skyler" Zylen said and put my attention on him seeing his face look shocked.

"I'm not going to continue to work with people who like to lie to myself like I'm some dumb kid who doesn't understand anything that's pitched to her. All these lies and secrets are unnecessary yet common for you people"

"It's not to hurt you it's to help you"

"Shut up Zane with the freaking quotes you find online, If you all can't dare to speak to me like one of you because you still don't trust me or accept me then I don't want to be apart of your alliance any longer"

"Skyler, Sunshine it's not like that" Zylen said reaching out to me and I put my hand up pushing him back from coming any closer to me.

"I'm done"I said then a breeze flew past us as Ali flew next to me and grabbed my arm while Jace and four others stood in fighting positions.

"That's all I needed to hear" Ali smiled showing a full set of teeth before he vanished us out of the club while Zylen yelled my name.
