The plane landed. I watched the runway rush away beneath the plane as it slowed to a stop. I shook Dan slightly, he had fallen asleep again and his head was resting on my shoulder.
"Dan," I smiled as his eyelids fluttered open and he saw me. "We're in Japan."
Dan gasped and sat up abruptly. He looked out the window and back at the people around us starting to flood out.
"C'mon then!" I pulled him up by his hand once we were both unbuckled but let go immediately when we were standing and stretching.
We filed out of the plane behind the other passengers with our carry ons in hand. We stepped out into the airport, amazed at the language and structure around us.
We rode a taxi to the hotel, and pulled big suitcases behind us through the entrance of the building.
"Hello," I said at the front desk. The woman looked up.
"Hello," she replied in a Japanese accent. "And your name please?"
"Lester," The room was filed under my name since I booked it.
"Lester... Ah! Here you are," she handed me the key. "Oh, you and your husband enjoy your room. You asked for one bed, right?"
I hesitated before replying with a smile, "Yep." I was joking around with myself and accidentally must have only book a room with one bed. Oh well.
Dan was off in the middle of the lobby, looking around at the fancy hotel.
"Daniel James Howell," I called to him. He jumped, not expecting someone to say his full name. "Let's go."
"Oh," He followed me to the elevator with his suitcase trailing behind.
"Um," I breathed. "They made a mistake and there's only one bed in the room."
"That's fine," He grinned in my direction. Oh his smile. His smile was like one million stars lighting up my whole day. He blinked his brown eyes and I couldn't help staring. A lot of people think brown eyes are ugly, but I think they're so beautiful. They shine like gold when light hits them. They usually have lots of texture in them like little waves. Or a sandstorm. Look close and you'll see.
"Phil," Dan snapped me out of my daze. I followed him out of the elevator to our room. I swiped the key in the door and we stepped inside. It was so nice!
"Wow," I muttered and jumped on the bed. Dan joined me, spreading out his arms which made me have to squish to the end of the bed. I didn't mind. I'd do anything for Dan.
It was night time, and I was fairly tired from not sleeping much in the plane. I slipped into my pyjamas, not caring much if Dan saw me. It was hot, so I pulled off me shirt. I turned around to find Dan staring at me. He flicked his eyes away quickly.
I shrugged it off and stepped out into the balcony.
The view. Oh the view was magnificent.
"Dan! Come see the view!" I yelled to him. He hopped to my side and gasped in awe.
"Incredible."
We admired the view for about five minutes while making conversation about the differences between Tokyo and London.
We were standing close. Close enough to make my shirtless chest graze his jumper. It was cold outside so I shivered and jumped inside and on the bed. Dan followed soon after and closed the door.
He took off his jeans and I couldn't help staring at his ass. I returned my gaze straight ahead when I saw he was about to turn around. I switched off the lamp and he flipped the light switch so the room was in complete darkness.
