This is a long one (2407 words)

I've been having the same dream for a while now. It has the same guy in it, noticing me and coming up to me. We go on dates, the quick weird kind in dreams. Then, at the end of the dream, I lean in for a kiss. That's when it stops.

Every night.

I don't know who the guy is though, but I must have seen him before. Somewhere.

I yawn and climb out of bed. The same dream. We were just about to kiss but we stopped.

The guy in my dream has black hair, darker than the night, in a choppy side hairstyle. His eyes are glowing blue orbs. His face gets so close to mine in the dream that I see all the colours. Blue for the most part, but green and yellow peeking in. And his smile is large and happy. You an tell he worked hard to achieve it. Loneliness rests in his eyes, and I see his life light up when he leans in for the kiss. He has very prominent cheekbones, it's hot. And his pale skin perfectly goes with his black hair and dark apparel. He's beautiful.

I quickly change, getting ready for work. I work at a bookstore. It's quite popular since it's a small but full bookstore. We get a fair amount of customers.

My feet drag along the pavement as I walk towards Starbucks for morning coffee.

I leave the store and make my way to work. It's only about a block away from my flat.

I get inside and immediately go to the back to check in with Maya Friedman. She and her wife, Clara, are the owners of the store. They live in the apartment above it with their cats, Muriel and Ronald who roam downstairs. They're friendly cats, so they let people pet them.

"Hey Maya, where's Claire?" I walk into the back room, with couches and a mini fridge, and grab a glass from the cabinet and fill it up with water from the sink.

"She has a doctor's appointment. Thanks for coming today, I know you were sick yesterday," She smiles and picks up Muriel. Muriel purrs as she pets her softly.

Yesterday was Sunday, and I called in to say I might not be able to come to work today. I actually just wanted to explore the city of London today. I just recently moved here, six months ago. I decided not to, I can do it next Sunday. This past Sunday I just finished fully unpacking. Yes, it took a while, but I had a lot to do.

I started working here because Maya, and now Claire, I guess, are family friends of my family. They used to live in the same town as us.

I head over to the children's section and get the crate of new, donated actually, books and start to put them on the shelf.

One of my coworkers, Sam, takes my place and I sit at the counter where she previously was working.

The bell rings on the door and in walks a man with a black coat and jet black hair. He turns to me and flashes a friendly smile. He has pale skin, a pointed nose, and blue-green eyes. Maybe with a little yellow.

It's the guy from my dream.

I gasp and fall backwards, causing my chair to topple over with me in it. My head just misses the wall and falls straight to the hard floor with only a rug protecting it.

"Are you okay?" The man runs over behind the desk and kneels down next to me. Stars float above my head and my skull aches. I close my eyes and nod slowly.
