WTF happened at the park

                Is it weird, that ever since that one day at Sam’s house I get more butterflies in my tummy than ever before? Oh well, it’s time to get back into my school brain. Let’s see, I have a test in English over the book I never read. Sammy. I have a paper due in History that I only wrote half way this morning. SAMMY. I have a quiz in math over the study guide I never even looked at. SAMMY! Ahhh who am I kidding Sammy keeps invading my mind.

“Paige!!!” that voice made my eyes go wide and I looked all around for the origin of the voice. Suddenly all I saw was a blob of black hair on top of me. There was only one person I knew who had black hair all the way past her hips.

“Yuki!” I said happily, now that my friend was back from reasons unknown.

“So where did you go again?” I asked as we walked into the school, showing the weird lady our passes.

“I went to Japan to visit some family silly,” she said laughing.

“And… I got you and Nat a present” she exclaimed happily reaching into her backpack and pulling out a cute anime ninja. I squealed the first moment that I laid my eyes on it.

“It’s the best thing ever! Thank you” I said hugging her and walking with her until we went our different ways for class.

Ugh is it finally Saturday, it seems like just yesterday that Yuki finally came back. However, that was 5 days ago now. I think I’m going to the park and swing until an adult yells at me for hogging the swings. I don’t care that I’m in my pajamas; I’m too lazy to go change. I walk into the living room to see Robbie and Logan. I immediately felt my face heat up as I think about my lack of clothing. I glanced up to see Robbie shaking his head in disappointment and Logan with the same flustered look as me.

“Paige, where are you going dressed like that?” Robbie asked still shaking his head. I was wearing my red Mario short shorts and a purple yoshi tank top. I’m a gamer at heart and these were my favorite pajamas.

“Ummm…” I trailed suddenly uncomfortable and slowly backed away to the door so I could make a quick ninja escape and go to the park as I planned. When I got close enough, I made a break for it.

“Park” I yelled before closing the door and making a beeline to the park. I thought I heard someone follow me so that just made me run faster. The park was right next to my house on the right while Sammy’s house is on the left. It takes me just about 5 minutes to get to the park. Yupp it’s that close to my house. When I got the park, the first thing I saw where the swings and the second thing I saw were a couple making out right next to the swings. Ewww, why do they have to do that publicly were there are children present… like me. As I got closer to the swings, the couple was becoming clearer in my vision. Why do they look so familiar? The girl was shorter than the guy was and she had straight black hair that went past her hips. Hmmm. The guy had familiar looking shaggy black hair.

“Paige!” somebody yelled my name and the couple turned to look at me and I just stood there in shock and disappointment.

“Sammy…. Yuki” I choked out before I fell to my knees. There they were; they both looked guilty and shocked, but neither pulled away from each other nor spoke to me. Logan who was following me just picked me up and started to walk towards the river on the other side of the park; as far away as Sammy and Yuki. Why??? Did I not act fast enough??? I just wanted to wait for him to get over Sky before I made my move. Did Yuki ever help him the way I did. Maybe he just doesn’t like me the same way I liked him. Don’t I feel stupid now.

“It’s ok Paige,” Logan said before setting me down on the grass right in front of the river. I just looked blankly at the river. This river was the cleanest one here and I’ve had so many memories here, including some Sam-related ones that I didn’t want to remember right at this moment.
