Chapter 23

Cam's Pov
I walked quickly down the hall & saw Trent's door was open. I tried to hold back tears because my baby is okay.

"I love you, I love you, I love you."

Trent smiled & kissed me.

"I love you too princess."

The boys came in the room, cracking jokes on Trent. I don't think I ever seen Trent laughing & smiling that much.

"And I just got one question Tre, where the hell did you find Cameron fine ass?" Terrell joked

All the boys except Trevon started laughing.

"Terrell what did I tell you about that fly ass mouth." Sheila walked in the room & kissed Trent on the forehead

"Sorry" Terrell tried to hide his smirk

"Man she's beautiful ain't she. It don't get no better than her."

Trent kissed my hand & smiled. Trevon just sat in the corner on his phone.

"Hey, Trevon you want to go down to the cafeteria & get some ice cream?"

He nodded, "I'll be back babe. Do you want anything?"

"No I'm straight."

Me & Trevon sat down at a table.

"You don't say much, do you?"

He looked up at me from his ice cream bowl.

"Why?"

"I like listening, you should listen twice as much as you speak. I just feel like talking is pointless sometimes. Terrell talks too much, he's the family clown. Terrance talks a lot but not as much as Terrell. Trent will talk but doesn't like to. I don't talk, I listen."

"Listening is a good quality to have."

Me & Trevon talked for a little bit & then went back upstairs. Shelia was talking with the boys. I kinda felt misplaced. Like I shouldn't be there.

It started to get late & Sheila & the boys left to give me & Trent some privacy.

"Tre we have to talk."

Trent looked at me with his eyebrows knitted together, I smiled a little & sat next to him on the bed. I placed my hands on his face. I just stared for a little.

"You just don't know how much I love you. You're in me. There's no way I can imagine a world without you in it & if there is I don't wanna live in it. When I saw you on the gurney I damn near lost my mind. I started thinking its time to leave Atlanta. This place has brought nothing but pain & trouble. You're the only good thing that has come from me living here. You said you want to go back to school, don't put it off any longer. Now you don't have to make a decision right now, think about it."

"Let's go. When I get out of the hospital. Look for a house. How about we go to Cleveland? I want Tai to be closer to my mom & We can bring Dre & Cass with us."

"Really? You're serious?"

"I'm serious. When I get out of this hospital we can go."

I smiled & kissed him. The nurse came in & told me that visiting hours are over & that I can back to see him first thing in the morning. I kissed my baby goodbye & drove back to his house.

Cass was in the living room with Shelia & I heard the boys in the man cave loudly yelling about 2k. I smiled to myself & joined in with my sister & shelia's talk.

"I'm older than Cam by 30 minutes. She's always been extra."

We all laughed, "yeah Cassandra's the more subtle twin."

"I'm surprised Trent never mentioned there were two of you."

"Actually I hadn't told him until recently. Cassandra had a uh . . .hard? childhood, I guess that's how you would put that. I don't know. Something happened when we were 16 & she moved to California & she just came back to Atlanta a couple days ago."

"What happened if you don't mind me asking?"

I looked at Cass, "excuse me." I stood up & went to the kitchen & poured myself a small glass of wine.

I went into the man cave & Terrell was the first person to acknowledge my presence.

"Can I have whatever you're drinking?"

I smiled "I don't think your mom would appreciate me letting you drink."

"Could I have a glass of juice?"

Trevon looked at me with a little smile "of course, this is your brother's house. you aren't a guest, you can have whatever you."

Terrance looked at me & smiled, I blushed a little.

"Are you guys hungry? We can order food."

"I'm in the mood for Chinese." Terrance piped in & Trevon nodded his head.

Everyone started to get ready for bed & I cleaned up. It was going on 11 & I couldn't sleep. I leaned against the kitchen sink wondering how I'm going to tell everyone me & Trent are moving to Cleveland. It'd be good news for his family but for mine? Not so much.

I felt someone standing at the kitchen door. It was Terrance, I stood up straight & reached my hand out. He placed his plate & cup in my hand.

I turned around & washed his dishes. I felt him stand behind me. He was so close I could smell his cologne. He smelled so good. My body reacted to him & I tensed up. He placed his hands on my shoulders, I turned around & faced him. I came up to his chest. I closed my eyes.

I looked up at him & shook my head.

"I love Trent & I would never do anything to hurt him or compromise our relationship."

"My brother found a good girl & I hope he does everything to keep her."

I stood on my tippy toes & kissed his cheek.

He smiled & helped me finish the dishes.

"You know you needs company & is completely single?"

"Pleaseee say your sister, she's beautiful."

"You stole the words right out of my mouth. She's a tough cookie but I'm sure you can break her, she's been through a lot though."

"I can tell, but all she needs is a man to love her regardless of her demons. Someone to help her work through them no matter how hard she tries to push the away."

My sister is an amazing woman, but she's a woman scorned & she's never forgiven herself for what happened, she never really had someone in her corner. I wasn't there for her.
