Chapter 15:
Carly
After school I seek out Damien. I find him, and it looks like he's arguing with a girl. She wears all black, and her hair is blond. I freeze. It's her. The girl Damien was kissing. I clutch my bag. The girl suddenly looks appalled, Damien's eyes widen. She looks over at me. I run. I don't know or care where I'm going. I drop my bag, who cares about stupid homework when your life is in danger? I know I sure don't. I end up on an unfamiliar street, out of breath. No, vampires don't have super-strength or speed. All stupid myths. Somehow I end up in front of Damien's house. He's waiting for me, "Carly, I did something really stupid. You're in tons of danger. Get in the car."
"What happened?"
"If I told you you'd hate me."
"I could never hate you, Damien. Tell me."
"It slipped and I told Melanie that you're a vampire."
I close my eyes, "Where are we going?"
He doesn't answer me and I'm not going to get an answer. I don't hate him, I need him. I'm relying on Damien to get me out of this mess. Right now, I'm totally helpless.
