I hadn't run into Dinah all morning; I'm pretty sure she was avoiding me. I went to her locker at the beginning of the day, but she didn't show up.

Maybe she's sick, my subconscious murmured.

I headed over to the music block after my fourth lesson had ended. If she was in, she would be outside of the music block eating her lunch. I walked round to the back of the building and found her school bag leaning up against the wall with an open book sitting next to it.

I figured she'd gone to the bathroom or something, and so I decided to sit down with her bag. I tried to distract myself and look up at the clouds, but I caved within ten seconds, and picked up the open book.

'I can still taste the ocean like it was today.

You said please keep on holding your hand

and the rain it came too soon,

I will wait for you to love me again.'

"Lyrics..." I mumbled under my breath, frowning a little. "What the fuck do you think you're doing?"

I squeezed my eyes shut; fuck. She snatched the book from my hands, tucking it into her bag. "You're in love with someone?" I asked, looking up to her. "No, you don't have to be in love to write a love song." She said, picking her bag up.

"I'm not in love with anyone." She repeated.

"Okay, sorry. I'm sorry, I'll leave. You were sitting here first." I mumbled, standing up and brushing the grass off of my legs.

"Don't tell anyone." She said quietly. I looked up to her; she was looking down to the ground. "Tell anyone what?" I frowned a little. "That I, you know, write, uh, songs." She mumbled awkwardly.

"It's... Not a bad thing that you write songs, Dinah." I said, my confusion was clear in my voice. "It's a really cool thing, actually." I said, stepping a little closer to her. She just sighed, hugging her bag to her chest. "I won't tell anyone though, of course." I said, looking her up and down.

I'd never seen her nervous before. It was a cute sight to see.

"So will you go to prom with me?" I smirked. "No," She laughed, "Go away."

"Oh c'mon! We had a cute moment just then, please?" I chuckled a little, dragging out the word 'please.' She looked up to me and tilted her head a little, "I'm not going to prom with you, and that moment was awkward and uncomfortable, not cute." She said. "Whatever you say," I said, then opened the door into the hallway of the music block.

"Oh, and stop avoiding me, Williams. I like seeing you around the school." I said, then walked away.

At the end of the school day, I saw her at her locker. I was staring at her; I couldn't help it. She noticed me after a minute or so, and I watched as she turned completely around to face me. She tilted her head to the side and raised her eyebrows a little, as if to say 'really?'

I grinned widely at her, and she shook her head, putting her middle finger up at me before turning to face her locker again. Ouch, my subconscious gasped.

I continued to watch as she scratched the back of her neck, then licked her lips. Suddenly, a bundle of thoughts entered my mind. I wanna kiss her, I wanna fucking make out with her. I wanna hear her say she wants to do the same things with me. I have a crush on this girl, don't I?
