Okay, we dealt with Tia's parents' inhibitions about Nate, but we still need with his parents' inhibitions about Tia. Interracial, I don't know if there is a term for different religions, relationships are complicated.
"I don't know. Actually, a few of my high school classmates actually married their Filipino girlfriends," I started. "Although they did, knock them up first."
My mom laughed, and then deadpanned, "They planned it."
"What?" I asked, surprised.
"Accidents," she huffed. "How else do you think their parents agreed to it?"
"Well, that's one strategy," I commented. Although, Tia has a lot to say about premarital sex.
Well, one thing about Chinese grandparents is that they will always welcome grandchildren, planned or accidents or planned accidents.
