Thought| August Alsina
***
Marie lied on her bed, phone in hand. She scrolled through the old messages that belong to August and herself as she tried to decide the way to word her feelings. She knew that every relationship came with a price to pay. What is she stayed and threw the rest of her life away? How many chances did she give him to get it right today? How many tears did she have to wipe away to hide her pain?

Marie remembered how August told her he had wanted her and no one else, but he could never prove it to her. Overall, she just wasn't happy with the circumstances, but she wanted him to be happy more than anything. He cleverly made it seem to her as if she was what made him happy, but she always wondered one thing. How could he heart someone that made him so happy?

Marie understood completely that August did not grow up in the best environment and that made it hard for him to love. She came to the conclusion that he was broken. She couldn't keep putting her pretty flowers in a broken vase.

Marie wished more than anything that her and August could share a love so deep that they could baptize in it and make the preacher jealous. She knew that could never happen. She knew he could never commit to her like she had to him so long ago.
