“Woah! She has read my mind. How’d she do that?” Yui slowly walked in looking crossed and amazed. “No, it’s not that hard especially when you are already at my age,” the old woman tossed her apron on the side. “So you said you were sent by Kam Shik?” the old woman reached to her a cushioned chair. Yui sat at the chair and began telling her story. But she just made it short so as not be to revealing. “Don’t worry, in your stay here Yui-chan, you’ll be disciplined and become a better daughter and better wife someday,” the old woman said emphasizing the words disciplined and better.

Woah! No one knows about my fantasies on prince in shining armor and become a wife. Woah this old woman is a witch, reading and looking into other people’s thoughts.

“’aye you have foul mouth don’t you little miss?” the old woman got angry and stood up. “Here,” the old woman tossed keys to her, “Your room is at the second floor at the left. Make sure to clean up.”

They’ve had bad conversation. Yui was a bit rebellious and lousy, while the old woman was disciplining her. She had taught Yui how to cook and clean the house, from swiping the floor, to wiping the windows and brushing the carpet. She had taught Yui to wash the clothes and the rugs. Woah. They’ve had fighting days; especially when the old woman would insist to take Yui and Min Choo to the town’s hall to listen to the town’s meeting or the vicar’s sermon.

Yui was not really fond of those things, but she just accompanied the old woman. Who knows what will happen to her along the way? Though everyone in the hall are old people or married couples interested of the welfare of the community, but she is not like that. So, it tires her entirely. What caught her eye is a young man, more likely of the same as her. She approached him out of the blue. She tried talking to him, but there was no response.

What? So, shameful. There are still snobbish undeserving guys like him in this place? Just as I though this village is really so backwards and so self-righteous that they they … She become conscious of what she thought when she saw the people looking at her direction. Don’t tell me they can read what I am thinking just like that old woman? Or perhaps they are just looking at me because I am the one who made the first move, talking to a guy first. Oh right, I forgot, people in this village are angelic and conservative. Why am I so paranoid about that old woman?
