(The day of the first concert of the Winter Wonderland Tour; December 1st, 2011 – Which is two weeks after the crew was in NYC. They are now back in Cali in the Conjunction house; 6:00A.M.)
Roc Royal's POV:
Keisha barged into our room and shook us all, and not in the motherly loving way. In the wake–yo’–lazy-@ss-up way. “Wake up! It’s day 1 and we have a lot to do before the show tonight! Roc, go wake the girls up.”
“Okay.” I groggily replied.
After we were all sitting up, rubbing the crust out our eyes, Keisha must have thought we were up enough to leave without us snuggling back into bed.
I heaved myself off the bed that I shared with Ray– it was a queen – and headed down the hall to the girls room.
On my first knock, Ariel sang back, “Come in.”
I opened the door to see all the girls tucked in bed except Ariel. She was sitting in an Indian position next to a sleeping Chyna, playing on her phone.
“What’s up Chicken Wang?” She asked.
“Keisha told me to wake y’all up.” I yawned and covered my mouth.
She smiled at her phone and giggled. “I can’t with him.”
“What?” I asked while sitting on the edge of their bed.
“I’m texting Deandré.”
“Oh. . .” I scrunched up my nose.
This girl’s been ‘texting Deandré’ since we left and for some magical reason her phone never seems to die no matter how many times I’ve wished it would. “He seems shady to me, Ari.”
She looked up from her phone and looked at me as if I had said Ray was outside flying. “What? Boy, De’s been my bestfriend since the 4th grade so I think I know him way better than you do, Mr. Met Him Once.”
“I’m just saying tho’. It’s been two years and people can change and grow apart with a blink of an eye.”
“Well were good thank you very much. I’ll wake the girls up.” She returned to her phone.
“I didn’t mean to offend you, Ari.”
Silence.
“See you downstairs?”
Silence.
I sighed and exited the room to go get ready for the day.
Ariel's POV:
When Roc shut the door behind him gently, I sighed. What was he talking about, ‘He seems shady’?There’s not one single thing shady about him. He’s nice, cool, and we’ve known each other even when he was scrawny.
Chyna sat up, resting her arm on her pillow to support her face.
“Oh, good your up. Now we just have to find a way to wake the sleeping rock.”
She giggled faintly. “I’ve been up and heard that whole convo’. You were real wrong for that my friend.”
I sucked my teeth. “Why? He was the one over here hating on my bestie.”
