Two month mark...
There was still some awkwardness between Chris and me. No matter that he was a sweetheart. He often came over, called me, or simply checked on me if I needed anything.
It was nice knowing he was there for me. Even if we argued a lot before everything changed. We didn't have many pointless fights after Dr. Hemingway put us in our place. I did appreciate her calming demeanor yet I think I mostly stuck with her due to not being afraid to call Chris and me out for being shitty each other-- and inadvertently her.
It was agreed that there would be an announcement made regarding this once I was five months pregnant. Whether it was going to be by interview or the clinic releasing the information, we didn't know. All I needed to worry about was keeping it hidden, staying happy, and healthy. I ate healthy anyhow, except my cheat days were pretty epic. They still are, pregnant or not.
Being pregnant, everyday was a cheat day. I drove to supermarket or nearest place for what I was craving in the beginning. Chris did it afterwards. I did try to be mindful about it, yet the staples tended to be ice cream and chocolate. Probably my weirdest combo that actually made Chris through up was mint chocolate chip ice cream, hot fudge, hot sauce, and pickles. I'm still questioning how I ate that.
Anyway, one night I called up, Chris. We hadn't seen each other in a couple weeks and I decided it was time for a new tradition that would live on. At least I hoped it would.
"Hey Chris!" I exclaimed.
"You seem cheerful. Hi Perry," he said.
I sighed, "So I was thinking we should start a new tradition."
"Sure," Chris asked. "What kind of tradition?"
I smiled as I replied, "What do you think of having dinner together every Sunday...Not like a date, but something we do even after the baby is born."
He seemed to understand, "Of course. Of course. That would be nice."
"Really?"
"Yeah!" Chris reassured me while laughing. "Would you like to start tonight?"
I nodded, "The sooner the better."
"Great!" he exclaimed. "Should I bring something on the way home? What are you craving?"
"Funny," I chuckled.
"What?"
"You said craving. I'm constantly in a state of craving."
"Right...What are you in the mood for?"
I replied, "I for once feel like cooking. I'll see what I have in the fridge."
"Can I bring dessert?" he asked.
I said, "Sure. Let's make it a party."
"Your sweet tooth has been on steroids...What should I bring?"
"Ben and Jerry's ice cream."
"Let me guess....Mango sorbet, cookie dough ice cream, and cake batter."
"How did you know, Chris?" I smirked while being somewhat surprised.
He laughed, "It's all I've bought the past two months for you."
"True."
"When should I head over?"
"Right now."
"I'm at the beach right now and I need to shower."
I shook my head, "Surfing?'
"Yes."
"Why am I not surprised?"
