Chapter 10
“I honestly don’t see why you need me for this.” said Reece.
“Shhh! We don’t want to get caught!” Keady said.
“Oh yea, they’re going to arrest us for wanting to be at school longer. I’d like to see how that works.” I said sarcastically.
We walked to the senior lab and went to open the door only to find that it was locked.
“UGH! SPESSOT WHY DID YOU HAVE TO LOCK IT?!” I said angrily.
“Oh well, I guess we better go.” Reece said as she attempted to run away, but I caught her.
“Step back girls…I’ve got this.” Keady said as she pulled a bobby pin out of her hair. She stuck it in the lock, wiggled it a few times and like magic, the door opened up.
“Holy shit Keady! Where did you learn how to do that?” Reece asked in awe.
“I believe the words you are looking for are, thank you Keady!” Keady said confidently.
“I can just see it now…the headlines read, innocent girl bails cousin out of jail.” Reece said as she walked into the classroom. “Alright, let’s just grab the camera and get out of here.”
We grabbed the camera that Reece had placed in the lab for her media assignment, and walked out of the door nonchalantly. Once we got out of the school, we sprinted for dear life back to Keady’s car. We pulled into Keady’s driveway and walked into the kitchen. I pulled out my laptop and plugged the camera into the USB slot. We watched the footage. It was mostly Spessot teaching his classes and the cleaning ladies scrimmaging through his desk.
“Why did you have to tape this crap?” Keady asked.
“I don’t know…ask Ms.Phillips.” she said defensively.
We fast-forwarded it to last night. There it was, a black figure circulating around the room. First, it locked the door, shut the blinds, and then, picked the lock to get into the chemical storage, at which point Reece and I looked at Keady and said "I wonder where they leanrned how to do that..."
"What are you bitches looking at?" Keady said offensively.
“Well this is a lot of help…how are we supposed to know who is it…it just looks like a big black blob.” I said.
“Wait, rewind…” Reece said urgently. I rewinded the tape until she said, “Stop! Right there. See, there’s a ring.”
“That’s not just a ring…that’s Bree’s ring!” Keady muttered with surprise. “Bree gave it to him last week.”
“Who’s him?” I asked.
“Nick…” Keady said quietly. After Keady had put the pieces together, you could tell she was angry as a sense of rage grew in her face. “You know what I’m going to do to him. I’m gonna kick his ass so hard there’s gonna be a dent…and a bruise that will last his entire lifetime. And, and I’m gonna kick him in the dick so hard, wait no,” she said correcting herself, “I’m gonna cut off his dick. Yea that’ll teach him a lesson,” she said as she rubbed her hands together like an evil cartoon villain.
“Okay no, we are going to go about this is a peaceful way. We don’t want any more trouble. We’ll just confront Nick tomorrow and ask him what’s going on. And if he doesn’t say anything…then Keady’s plan will work too.” I said as Keady grinned evilly.
