Diya's POV
"Dev.....I-I-I C-C-Can't Marry you" I frowned not able to make eye contact. I shook from the inside trying to extremely hard to keep my emotions from coming out. Expecting a blast from Dev I waited.
Moments later his laughter echoed the room. I think he may have got the wrong idea. He must me thinking that I'm joking.
Oh Arjun....If only I could kill you!!! I don't want anything to happen to Dev!!!
"Dev....I'm Serious!!" I said. I could see his smile disappear from the corner of my eye. Not able to hold onto his glaze I turned the other way.
"I'm Dam Serious Dev....I-I-I cant marry you!!" I almost shouted. I could see his hands clenching into a fist through my mirror.
For a moment both of us stayed silent. I assumed Dev was thinking of how to answer this.
Unexpectedly, Dev's hand clenched onto my arm pulling me towards him.
"What do you even mean Diya???" He Questioned increasing his grip onto my shoulders. "What do you even mean by that??"
"Dev....It's clear.....I D-Don't love you!!" I lied. "I was analysing the whole thing and you are nothing more than a friend for me!!" I regretted every word that was coming out of my mouth.
Dev stood there for a while. Struggling to absorb the words that have come out of my mouth.
"But Didn't I ask you Diya?? I asked you if you wanted to get married to me!! and you said yes!!" He said softly.
"YOU SAID YES DAMMIT!!!" he shouted shaking me out of my skin. His tear dropped onto my forehead.
"You said that you loved me Diya!!! You loved me!!!" He shouted again shaking me. I kept my eyes on the floor avoiding his eyes that were bloodshot red.
"You have ALWAYS broken my heart!!!" He stated. "It doesn't matter how much love I give to you....you are always selfish Diya!!" My heart sank as those bitter words of his poured out.
"Do you enjoy seeing me in pain Diya??" He asked making me feel even guiltier. I gave no reply....In fact I didn't even look at him!!
"DO YOU??" He shouted clenching onto my jaw forcing me to meet his blaze.
I was stuck!!! If I said no....then Dev would ask me why I want to brake the wedding in the first place....and if I say yes.....Then I would loose one of my closest friends!!
Oh God....Please help!!!
"YES!!! MR DEV DIXIT....I DO ENJOY SEEING TEARS IN YOUR EYES!!" I did it....I officially Lost my best friend.
"I always have enjoyed braking your heart....and this was going to me my final shot!!" I lied hoping he was falling for this
He stayed silent for a moment
"In that case....I'm going to keep my enemy close," he whispered. I looked up at him in confusion. "They say keep your friend close....and your enemies even closer," he said cupping my face forcefully.
Slapping his hand away I looked at him confused. "Miss Diya Khanna.....I'm Dev Dixit!! The ruthless businessman that takes revenge for everything!!! Until now you were seeing the Nice version of Dev you knew!!! Now....the REAL Dev will come out!!" He began.
"And Miss Khanna.....the best revenge for you would be to continue this wedding!!!" He said.
"Dev....Why don't you understand!!! I-I-I Can't--" He interrupted.
"OH SHUT UP!!!" he shouted making me shake. "Be prepared for an unhappily married life Miss Diya Khanna!!" He said.
Tears continued to roll down my cheeks. I fell onto my knees and cried.
"Diya....Save these crocodile tears for later!! You are going to need them!!" He said coldly and left slamming the door shut!!
*Central Jail*
Author's POV
Arjun's father came to visit his son in Jail.
"Son....are you okay??" Mr Singh asked.
"Yes Dad!!"
"It's so unfortunate that that Diya girl is getting married to that Dev!! I mean....she is such a decent girl....I just wish she could be Mrs Arjun Singh instead of Mrs Dev Dixit!!" Mr Singh complaint.
"Who said that's still not possible??" Arjun said shocking his father.
"What??"
"Dad....you know me....I Arjun Singh NEVER gives up!! You know how gullible Diya is!! She will believe anything!! All you need to do is send her a threat message and call her!! I managed to convince her that if she got married to Dev....I would kill Dev!!" Arjun said.
"Yea...but what if she tells that Dev that she received a letter from you??"
"I took care of that as well!!! I told her that if she tell anyone about all this...I will Kill everyone in her family accept her!!!" he explained.
"But are you actually going to kill Dev and everyone?"
"Dad....do you really think that I have enough time or money to do so?? I've spent all my money on things kidnapping the two....and even that came out fruitless!! so this time....I'll just try my luck and hope for the best!!" He giggled.
"Well done Son" Mr Singh patted his back.
Laughter filled the corridor as the father and son mocked Diya's decisions.

Sorry for the incredibly short update!! It's just that I really wanted to elaborate on the last bit of chapter 21 so I posted chapter 21B!!!

Getting back to the actual Chappy....Arjun is just tricking Diya!!! He is STILL in jail.....Feeww!!....But now Dev and Diya's Friendship has perished!!! What's going to happen next?? Do you still think that this wedding will take place?? or Will Diya be able to stop the wedding???
