♢ Laura ♢

The boys thrashed us at capture the flag and brought our pink flag to Rhi within twenty minutes and we didn't even get close to their flag.

I didn't see Ryan after that, but It was definitely him. I couldn't describe how I felt, it was a mixture of excitement and anxiety. The guy I had liked for years and years had finally spoken to me. He also touched me and I felt like I had been touched by a celebrity because I sort of didn't want to wash my hand afterwards. The warmth from him was still lingering.

Katie placed her bowl of cereal on the table next to me followed by Rachel with some toast.
"Not hungry for breakfast Laura?" Rachel asked almost too curiously, the look on her face made me think she knew more than she was letting on. I couldn't sleep last night, I was so buzzed by the fact that I would be spending my summer near Ryan Lake.

"Not really." I said whilst starring of into space and fiddling with my camp bracelet. We all had to wear them because of safeguarding within the camp, we had regular spot checks to make sure there wasn't any strangers within the grounds.
"Laura?" Katie asked with a shocked expression plastered onto her face.
"Yes..." I turned to her and frowned after noticing her facial expression.
"You saw him didn't you? He's here isn't he?! You aren't eating!" She spoke, putting her spoon down into her cereal bowl with a huge grin appearing on her face.
"Yep." I said bluntly and then grinned like an idiot.
"And? What happened?" Rachel asked excitedly leaning towards me over the table in the food hall.
"I tripped and fell at capture the flag last night. He helped me up." I smiled remembering his touch when he pulled me to my feet effortlessly.

"How did you know it was him?" Katie asked confused as I zoned back to reality. "It was pitch black!" Rachel then followed.
"Oh, I could tell it was him." I whispered and bit my lip. "His brother called his name, which was my confirmation." I grinned. I felt all mushy.
"Who are you and what have you done with Laura? You're bloody love sick girl!" Rachel said followed by a laugh, Katie joined in too.
"Talking of love sick, I haven't seen your brother again, Rachel. I'm missing him already." Katie sighed and gave Rachel her best puppy dog eyes. Rachel rolled her eyes. "Stop fantasizing over my brother, he's a jerk and a half."

---

We finished our breakfast, well Katie and Rachel did and then made our way to our first activity of the day. Thirty of us were in a group for the high ropes today. Harley from last night was our instructor for this activity.
"Good morning, guys and girls. I hope you had a good time in the challenge last night. You girls have to step up your game this year to beat the boys." He said loudly with a hint of amusement, emphasizing his support for the boys. There were some laughs from the crowd. I scanned the group to see if you-know-who was there. It sounds like I'm talking about Voldemort but the person I am talking about is a lot better looking! Ha! Unfortunately there was no sight of Ryan, or his brother, they must be doing a different activity today.

"Right everyone, today we are doing high ropes. Please take a crash helmet and harness from the store room over there." Harley said pointing to a shed behind us. We all rushed over in a scramble to get to the shed. After retrieving my helmet and harness I walked towards Rachel and Katie who already had theirs on.
"I hate these things, they always give me a super wedgie." Katie moaned trying to rearrange her shorts.
"Tell me about it." I said whilst struggling to put mine on.
"You're useless when it comes to these, Laura." Rachel said with a giggle as she helped tighten the harness around my waist.
"Thanks Rach." I replied with a smile.
