Previously...

I unfolded the second piece of paper that night.

Up above your head, there is a small shed.

As if we would see something, all of our heads tilted up to look at the slightly cloudy night sky.

Currently....

  8:00 pm on Friday

"So, obviously, we are looking for something above us," I stated plainly to my group, who were following close behind me. The night came quickly, the dark covering us like a blanket. My eyes were able to adjust, I could see the trees in front of me with the help of the full moon. The smell of sunscreen lingered close by which meant that Katie was directly behind me. Chris was the last of our group, much to Katie's whines to be in the middle to "feel safe".

I ducked under a branch that was extending in front of me. However, Katie wasn't as observant, and the branch slapped her square across the face with a thwack.

The girl began to jump, kicking and scratching at the air. I noticed her eyes were closed as she continued with her drunk ninja attack at nothing. "Help! Get it off of me!" Her hands went into her bag, as she hyperventilated. I reached out to calm her, but before I knew it, she was spraying bug spray right into my face. "Ha! See what you have against me now! I win!"

"KATIE!" I all but screamed, backing right into the tree with a thump. As soon as my back came in contact with the wood, there was a loud grunt from Chris who was rubbing his head.

"What's your problem?" I asked while trying to grab my water bottle rinse my eyes.

Chris mumbled, "Something just hit me in the head."

I shook my head disapprovingly before leaning back and pouring some water in my eyes, "Yeah right. You're just being dramatic. You're just upset that the attention isn't on you."

He continued to rub his head, looking around him, "Do I really look like the type of guy who likes attention, GI Jane?"

"Jamey, I think he's being serious. It looks like he's bleeding," Katie interrupted, completely calm. I took a step closer and strained my sore eyes to see the injury. Sure enough blood was seeping down his temple.

I looked over the cut, "It doesn't seem serious. Just a small cut. I have a first aid kit." I dug in my bag, pulling out the small box. I ushered Chris to the nearby log, where he sat down with a plop.

I poured some water onto one of the patches of gauze, and wiped away the blood. I quickly grabbed one of the Barbie band aids. When I began to take the wrapper off of it, Chris moved out of my reach, "Really? Barbie?"

I just ignored him, trying to put the band aid over the cut, "Does it hurt a lot?"

He shook his head before replying, "I'm a little bit high right now, so it doesn't hurt that bad."

"I think this is what hit you!" Katie called out, running over to us. I glanced over at her, noticing a small box in her hands. "I wonder what's in it."

"Well, open it genius," Chris sighed, finally letting me place the band aid over the small cut on his head. Katie opened it, dumping out it's contents in the leaves at our feet. I put the first aid kit back in my bag as I knelt down to look at the set of locksmith keys.

"Oh man, these are so useful!" Chris swept the keys out of my hand. "I could get into some serious joints with these babies." He smiled, slipping the keys in his pocket.

Katie scrunched her nose, tilting her head slightly, "Joints? Like drugs? Chris, that makes absolutely no sense."

Chris sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. His chest rose and fell as he inhaled deeply. "Don't worry about it Bambi." He spoke slow, his voice gruff. I shook my head at the two, looking over the box for anything else.

"It is awfully dark out here. Did one of you think to bring a flashlight?" Katie dug around in her bag for a few minutes, before lifting her head to look at us expectantly.

"Well, no. I didn't." Chris shrugged.

I sighed in defeat, glancing at my teammates, "You two are not very prepared. Of course I brought a flashlight. How did you two think you were gonna be able to see?" I pulled out my flashlight, turning it on. I wrapped the band around my wrist, shining the light around our feet. I closed the lid on the box, taking a deep breath.

Sometime during my ordeal, Chris and Katie had moved to do their own thing. Katie was sitting on the log with her legs crossed, filing her nails in ignorant bliss while singing "Material Girl" by Madonna. I turned my gaze to Chris who was lighting his second blunt of the night. "Are you serious?"

"What? I need something to drown out the dying walrus over there," He raises his hand, pointing directly at Katie who was oblivious to his snide remark. I nodded my head slightly, wanting to agree with him because her singing was obnoxiously out of tune, but I didn't want to hurt the girl's feelings.

I returned my attention back to the box. Where was the next clue? I began to shuffle the leaves around at my feet, holding the box in my hands.

Suddenly, Katie's voice raised several octaves and her singing became unbearably bad. Her sudden shrieking startled me which caused me to drop the box onto the ground. I glanced at her once with a frustrated expression before bending over to pick up the box. Chris looked over at her, his eyes wide, "Seriously? I almost dropped my blunt."

"That is what you're concerned about? Dropping your drugs? How about actually being a productive member of society and helping someone else." I shook my head, pacing a little on the crunchy leaves. However, I noticed something peeking out from under the leaves. My curiosity got the best of me and I picked it up. After I unfolded the paper I saw that it was the next clue.

To find some eats and treats, all you have to do is look above the streets.

A grin spread out on my face as I jumped in the air with joy, "I found the next clue!'

Katie's God awful singing came to an end abruptly. She hopped to her feet eagerly. "What's next?" I flashed the light over the small slip of paper as I read the clue out loud to my two group members.

"Oh thank goodness. They will give us food! I'm starting to get the munchies," Chris rubbed his stomach as he spoke. As if on cue, his stomach growled.

Katie placed her hands on her hips, looking at Chris. "You wouldn't be so hungry if you weren't getting high all night."

"Whoa, Ma. Calm your tits. I know you have got to be getting hungry as well," Chris stated matter of fact.

"I ate before I came," Katie shrugged, but turned to look at me. Chris just stared at her, slowly inhaling the smoke before blowing it out. I watched as the blunt fell from his fingers onto the leaves before his shoe came into contact to stub out the cigarette. "What's next boss woman?"

I looked at my group members, holding the flashlight upright so we could all see each other, "Let's get us some sweets."
