My dad was behind us with a furious look on his face.
"Get. Your hands. Off. Of. My. Daughter!" He yells at Calvin.
He picks him up by his collar an throws him into a wall.
"Wait!! Dad he was helping me get home!" I quickly say, desperate to protect him for some reason.
He glances over at me then glares at Calvin. "Is...this true?" He asks still a little mad.
"Y-Yes sir." He stammers.
Dad looks at him cautiously bit helps him up. "I'm sorry. It's not every day you see a good Shadow Knight...or a Shadow Knight at all for that matter."
I get up off of my knees and hug my Dad.
"Where were you anyways?" I ask him.
"I was knocked out by someone. But I'm here now." He strokes my hair while Calvin stands there awkwardly.
"Come on. Let's get out of here."
Dad and I start walking but Calvin stands still.
"What are you doing? You don't belong here." Dad says to Calvin.
"I-I've never been to the Overworld before..." He lied. He was really afraid of betraying his family.
I heard someone drop their weapon and throw open a cell door. They've discovered the guard that I took down.
"Calvin, it's okay if you don't want to leave.." I comfort him.
He clenches his fists and looks back to the jail. He looks at me pleadingly, I smile and nod at him.
"Let's go Dad." I say.
I start following my dad towards the portal, but I never take my eyes off of Calvin. A little piece of me died as we were running further away from him. We turn the corner and I hear him say, "They went that way." but the footsteps get further away. Except for a familiar pair.
"He just sold us out." My dad growls.
"Correction. He just saved us." I look behind us and smile as I see Calvin running towards us.
The portal was just ahead of us...this was our freedom.

Me and Calvin tumble on the ground and I laugh. "That was quite an adventure wasn't it?"
Calvin gets up and then helps me up. I look around, but my dad was missing.
"Wait. Where's my dad?" I say nervously.
"We've separated...people that aren't Shadow Knights won't teleport to the same location as us. He's where he found the portal...but it's teleported us somewhere random.." He says in a 'matter of fact' tone.
"You couldn't tell before!?" I say angrily.
"What was I supposed to say while running? Oh, hey, we won't be in the same places in the Overworld, but I'm sure it will be fine!" He yells at me.
"Well it's better than losing my dad! The only adult!" I yell back on the verge of tears.
"Well-W-Wait...don't cry." His voice softens and he rests his hand on my shoulder.
"Don't touch me." I mutter and shove away his hand.
He smiles and changes into a dark brown wolf, it's fur matched his hair. His wolf had gorgeous golden eyes.
He nudges me. He wanted me to transform too.."I.....I've never transformed before....I didn't even know we could do that." I blush.
He changes back and takes my hand. "It's easy. It comes naturally, just let all of your anger and worries go while thinking about transforming.." He smiles at me.
"D-Does it hurt?" I ask while looking at my feet.
"Stop looking at your feet, I wasn't done looking at your eyes." He laughs, which makes me blush. "And it does hurt a little bit the first time." He finishes.
I think about me changing into a wolf and forget my worries and anger. My bones begin to change and my skin becomes replaced with fur. I grimace in pain, it hurts a lot! He lied!
"There you go." He smiles at me. He joins me and changes into a wolf.
"Is something wrong? You looked troubled..." He says. How did he do that!?
"It's mind telepathy." He smiles in his wolf form.
"Oh..." I say, well think.
"Is anything wrong?" He asks.
"I just wanted to ask something..." I trail off.
"Go ahead." He says confidently.
"Do you know someone's named Laurence?"
