Chapter Nine - Scaleswind School

I had awoken laid down in my bed. I sit up from under the blankets and run my eyes.

"Good morning sleepy! We need to go to school! I already got out your clothes!" Lilith gestures over to the white crop top and short dungarees laying on the end of my bed.

"Thanks lil sis." I yawn and stretch out my arms.

"Hurry up, we leave in ten minutes, you slept in.." She says simply.

"WAIT WHAT!?!" I jump out of bed and push her out of my room so I could get changed.

After I get changed into my outfit I put on some high top black converses. I rave towards the bathroom to put my hair up in a messy bun and brush teeth.

"You're not having breakfast?" Jay asks from the doorway.

"We have lunch!" I say, still brushing my teeth.

"Haha! Remind us to never wake you up early." He laughs. I glare daggers at him and finish brushing my teeth.

I grab Lilith and Jay and run over to the boat that was about to leave for Scaleswind. We make it on just in time and I let out a sigh of relief as we safely climb aboard.

We reach Scaleswind docks and we get off calmly.

I see one of the popular boys from the school starts walking over to me.

"Here comes love struck lover boy~" Lilith and Jay sing in my ears.

"You rehearsed that didn't you?" I brush them away and they nod and laugh.

They quickly scatter to their groups of friends as he stops in front of me. "Hey gorgeous." He winks at me.

"Jordan." I greet coldly.

"Ouch, babe. That hurt." He says while putting his hands over his heart.

"Do not call me 'babe' ever again." I warn him.

"Alright, sweetheart." He puts his arm around me and starts walking over to the popular group.

"Uh, no." I duck underneath his arm and start walking the other way.

He grabs my arm and brings me closer to him again. "Where do you think you're going love?" He mocks me.

"Try hard." I insult him.

"Oh hey Annalise!" Calvin says from behind us. I mentally thank him and turn around, my movements shadowed by Jordan.

"What's this pathetic excuse for a boy?" He insults Calvin.

"Pathetic? I'd say I'd take you down in a matter of seconds." Calvin rolls his eyes.

I pull Calvin closer to me so I could whisper in his ear. "Calvin. You might not wanna start trouble with him, he goes all out berserker." I whisper in his ear.

He whispers back in my ear. "If you're there for me, that's all I need." I blush and look away for a few seconds.

I turn back to him. "Be careful...please." I tell him.

"Annalise. Let's go." Jordan commands.

"E-Excuse me?" I look at him in disbelief.

"Come on...we know you won't hurt anyone..." He laughs at me.

I grab his arm and throw him into a wall. "Oops." I say innocently then laugh.

People in the courtyard were now firing a circle around us, chanting 'fight, fight, fight'.

"You're gonna regret that Annalise!" He calls over some of his group and start ganging up on me.

"Annalise!" Calvin shouts and then turns into his Shadow Knight form.

"Oh I'm so scared." Jordan mocks. "One Shadow Knight against three of us." He laughs with his group.

"Correction. That's two Shadow Knights." I turn into a Shadow Knight and my clothes becomes much darker. The site crop top was now blood red and my dungarees were black.

Jordan and his gang start forming a smaller circle around me. Calvin breaks into the circle and pushes his back against mine.

"Thank you." I whisper to him.

"Give me your hands, and I'll swing you around so you can kick them." He whispers in my ear.

I nod. We turn around and he takes my hands.

"Annalise." Jordan warns.

"Ready?" Calvin asks me.

"Ready." He starts spinning me by my arms and starts swinging me around. After three spins, he releases me into one of the guys Jordan had called on.

Calvin kneels down on his knee with his back facing me. I get the message and start running and jump on his back and leap towards the other guy, knocking him out from the impact.

Jordan's face had turned a ghostly white.

"What's a matter Jordan?" I fake gasp. "Are you scared?" I mock him.

Calvin runs over to Jordan and throws him into the air.

"Anna!" He calls for me.

I run to him and puts his hand under my foot and throws me up to Jordan. I smirk as I see Jordan's watery eyes. I kick Jordan down to the ground. Hard. He crashes into the ground with a small hole forming where he had landed.

I start falling down to the ground but land on my feet, creating a small dent in the earth where I had landed.

"Good job Annalise. For your first fight, you did pretty well." He compliments.

"You're not to shabby yourself Calvin."
