"And if you just sign here, the divorce will be finalized." My lawyer said pointing down at the paper. I looked down at the paper one more time deciding whether I really wanted to take it to this degree.
I signed.
I walked out of the office sighing. I shuffled around my bag trying to find the keys to the car, then opening the car, putting the keys in ignition and just sitting there.
It had been a year since me and Luke had gotten married, it had been a year and a half since Luke found out about me and Calum. And it had been 6 months since Luke cheated on me. And now it had been a couple minutes since me and Luke were divorced.
I thought back to me and Lukes wedding night, we had family and friends there and the church was beautiful and the reception being even more beautiful, everyone gave their speeches - all of Lukes bandmates gave their speeches on how they knew when Luke fell in love with me, except Calum, they were no friends, This leading to the fall of 5SOS.
Then I thought about when I caught Luke with another women in bed. Her name was Serina, she and had been friends, they went out for coffee and dinners with the rest of Lukes friends. I never thought much of it, I guess I was dumb for thinking just because a piece of paper said we were husband and wife in the court of law, that might make Luke think twice about cheating.... It didn't. After walking in on them, I told Luke it was over.
After so many years of being under Lukes control I had finally grown the courage to end it. And it wasn't as hard as I imagined it to be too. I kept myself busy with work, I was always traveling and under the constant stress of work to even think of Luke. Being a high fashion model was exciting but just as stressful as any other job. Luke being a celebrity, me being one as well, you couldn't imagine the amount of attention we got when people found out that just as we got married, we were getting divorced.
My phone buzzed distracting me from my thoughts about the past.
Luke: I just got the papers from your Lawyer, I never thought you'd actually go through with it. I will love you forever, and I'm not giving up on this relationship even though you have.
Luke had sent me texts every single day since I caught him cheating. Everyday it was a new one, it stung. I felt horrible not replying to his texts, but it was the best, and I didn't have the guts to block his number either, I still wanted to how long it take him to give up. Running on 186 days and he still is texting me.
During this time without Luke, I've been analyzing his behavior. So far I've seen him with no women, but I could be wrong due to my only sources being the paparazzi, and Lukes a sneaky snake so I really never know. But one thing the paparazzi have been taking pics of are how horrible he looks, every image I see he has ugly bags under his eyes, and he looks like a skeleton- he doesn't look like Luke anymore.
I haven't seen him face to face in 6 months. Today I will. I've been sending movers over to our old house to retrieve my belongings. But my most important one, I haven't got back, my dog Zeus.
I arrived at our old house, Lukes Bentley was in the driveway, although I had prayed he hadn't been there. I popped my car door open, the property bringing back memories of when things we good. Quickly walking up the steps I unlock the door to the house. As I step in I notice the house a mess, it was filthy, and truly disgusting. It smelled like nothing and everything, there were stains all over the carpet, and trash falling out of every trashcan. I pulled my shirt over my nose in disgust.
I walked all over the downstairs looking for Zeus, trying not to call his name because then Luke would know I was home then.
The downstairs was empty, I silently tiptoed up the staircase, arriving up stairs. I had checked every room but Lukes which used to be ours. I walked over as quietly as possible and peeped the door open. Then I saw Zeus in bed with Luke, both sleeping. This was the worst way to possibly get Zeus.
"Zeus" I whispered
Zeus's head shot up. He jumped off the bed and started barking and jumped around me clearly excited to see me. He tackled me to the ground and started licking me. I was laughing for once in a long time. I missed my dog.
"Jessica?" I heard a confused and groggy voice. I looked up and saw a dead looking human who faintly resembled Luke, but I knew it was him.
"Hi Luke"
