*~*~*~*

I watched the warlock for another minute as he choked the Circle members without laying a hand on them. Then, as though he felt my eyes on him, he looked around, only stopping when he spotted me watching him. I didn't give his golden gaze a chance to meet mine before I turned away, pushing my way through the crowd to catch up with Clary.

I reached a set of curtains that were shutting off a part of the room to find Clary there, peaking through a gap in the curtains. I didn't say a word as I looked through the gap as well. On the other side I spotted the same blonde talking with a woman, but even from where I stood, I could tell she wasn't just any woman, she was a demon. I glanced around to see other demons in the area, as well as two other familiar faces. A raven haired girl was standing up on a small stage, dancing, while a young man with hair of an identical color was standing off to the side.

"Watch out!" Clary yelled. I reached out to grab her, to stop her, but I was too slow. Before I had the chance to wrap my hand around her arm she started forward, shoving the demon out of the blonde's way as he gripped his seraph blade, having been ready to kill it.

"Careful!" The blonde warned Clary as he pushed her back onto the floor, sending her sliding away, against the wall. I watched as the three familiar faces began to fight the demons around them. I started to make my way over to Clary, as did the blonde after he took out the female demon. "Are you hurt?"

Before Clary could answer him a demon came up behind him, hitting him in the back and sending him to the ground, causing him to drop his seraph blade. He began to fight the demon hands on while Clary hurried over to pick up his blade. He shoved the demon off of him, right onto the blade, causing the demon to disintegrate.

"Clary!" I grabbed the blade from her as the blonde was grabbed by another demon, not allowing him to retrieve his weapon himself. Without hesitating I pushed Clary back into the corner and started to join the others in the fight. Though I hadn't trained or fought in years, it felt as though it had only been yesterday when I last held a seraph blade in my hands. As I fought I made sure to keep an eye on Clary, seeing her watching with wide eyes, not understanding anything that she was seeing.

"Alec!" I heard the blonde yell. I looked over to see a demon with his arms around my brother's waist, starting to get the better of him. At the sight before me I couldn't help but pause for a moment, feeling as though it were two years ago once again. I could almost feel myself fading away, everything becoming a blur. I shook the memory from my head and before either of the other shadowhunters could react to their friend's yell I ran over, driving the blade in my hands through the demon's back, killing him.

"You're welcome." I huffed as he looked up at me, his eyes widening when he saw my face. Before he could say anything though, I turned away, getting back to the fight with the last remaining demons. As I killed the last one I saw Clary running back out into the main part of the club.

"Clary!" I threw the blade onto the couch near me and went running after her, pushing my way through the dance floor. As I caught up to her I saw her bumping into the same warlock I'd seen earlier. They both paused, looking at one another for a moment.

"Sorry," Clary apologized before she started running for the door again.

"Clary!" I yelled her name again as I shoved past the warlock, not bothering to stop and apologize like Clary had done. Right now, all that was on my mind was damage control.

"And then these creepy tentacle seemed to come out of the body builder's face, and... and then the guy just... vaporized." I walked into the living room in the middle of Clary's explanation to Jocelyn, telling her mother everything that she had seen back at the club tonight. I stayed in the doorway, trying to draw as little attention to myself as possible, not wanting to frighten Clary after everything that had happened tonight. "I mean, I was drugged, right?"
