"Bring the flowers out to the wedding tent. Put the lilies up on the dais, and lay the rose petals at the entrance." Isabelle instructed people as she and I walked into the central ops area. I could only shake my head at all the preparations that were going on for Joseph and I's wedding. As soon as Isabelle had learned that I had no real preference to our wedding preparations she had taken control.
"I'm going to vomit," My nose scrunched is disgust at the flowers as they passed by us. It wasn't that they weren't beautiful, because they were, but they were just another reminder of the wedding. Another reminder of what I had gotten myself into.
"Hush," Isabelle warned me as another woman walked over to us, holding two different. fabrics in her hands, one gold and one blue.
"Isabelle, which color do you like better?" The woman asked my sister, already knowing she wouldn't get an answer for me. "It's for the curtains adorning the wedding tent."
"The cobalt blue." Isabelle decided. "It's elegant, mysterious... very Cici."
"I'll put the cobalt blue out right away." The woman nodded as she hurried away, quickly being replaced by Jace, who seemed just as thrilled by all of the wedding preparations as I was.
"How are we supposed to get any work done with all this going on?" He frowned.
"We haven't had a wedding here in years." Isabelle sighed. "People are allowed to be happy."
"We need to focus." Jace shook his head as he led us over to a monitor that displayed the pictures of various warlocks. "Have you narrowed down the list of warlocks more powerful than Magnus Bane?"
"We've got it down to twenty." I told him, eager to leave the talk of wedding preparations behind.
"But it's gonna be hard to figure out which one cast that spell on Jocelyn." Isabelle warned the blonde.
"I don't care how tough it is, we've gotta find him." Jace shook his head. "Back at Renwick's, I let Valentine go. I won't make that mistake again. We gotta wake up up Jocelyn, in case she heard anything about his plan."
"Have you spoken to Alec?" Isabelle asked.
"He's probably busy." Jace said. "And I don't need to talk to anyone. Let's just stick to the mission, okay?"
"He's losing it." I sighed as we watched our friend walk away. Ever since he and Clary had returned to the Institute with Jocelyn he had been on edge, ever since he had figured out that Clary was his sister, that Jocelyn and Valentine were his parents.
"That he is." Isabelle nodded in agreement as my phone went off. I pulled it out of my pocket to see a text from a familiar number. "Who is it?"
"Magnus." I slipped the phone back into my pocket. "Alec suggested that I talk to him, says he might have information on whoever made Jocelyn's potion. I still don't understand why Alec wants me to go rather than going himself."
"Because he knows what the rest of us know, that you're the only one who'll be able to get any real information out of Magnus." Isabelle crossed her arms over her chest, giving me a knowing look. "He likes you."
"I'm not having this conversation with you, again." I shook my head as I started to walk away.
"Yeah, because you know I'm right!" She called after me.

"Hello, Magnus?" I called out into the warlock's loft, not seeing any sign of him as I walked through the living room. "You said you needed to talk to me?"
