Two weeks have passed since the start of the Shadow World Championships, and with each passing day, my conviction at choosing the Lightwoods deepened. Their trajectory and achievements spoke volumes.

Maryse Lightwood, a formidable leader, led the New York Institute with unwavering authority. Robert Lightwood, serving as the Inquisitor, exhibited an unyielding dedication to the Nephilim cause. Isabelle Lightwood, a formidable warrior, secured a remarkable third place in the whip challenge, leaving a lasting imprint on the history of the Shadow World after her involvement in the recent wars fought.

Rumors swirled about Simon Lovelace's imminent induction into the Lightwood family. Following in Alexander's illustrious footsteps, he garnered attention and support, particularly among Academy students. Alongside his Academy comrade, George Lovelace, they pioneered the recruitment of aspiring Nephilim, not only with the mission to rebuild the front lines but also to instill the revolutionary ideas propagated by Alexander Lightwood.

Clary Fairchild, blessed with extra angelic blood and a unique ability to create new runes, emerged as an indispensable figure in both wars. Renowned for her prowess, she, along with her fiancé Jace Herondale, were poised to ascend to leadership roles as the future heads of the New York Institute. Despite her exceptional performance in the runes challenge, securing third place, controversy ensued as the judges disallowed the use of new runes. Jace was quite angry at this injustice and was very close to setting the judges ablaze with his angelic fire.

When one mentions Jace Herondale, it's imperative to highlight two crucial aspects: his status as the most formidable Nephilim of his generation and his profound bond as the parabatai of Alexander Lightwood. Similar to his fiancé, Jace possesses an infusion of extra angelic blood, yet instead of the ability to create new runes, he is capable of controlling heavenly fire. He showed off his unparalleled combat prowess by scoring an effortless victory in the sword fighting challenge.

Alexander Gideon Lightwood, soon to bear the name Lightwood-Bane, emerged as the rising star in the political landscape of Shadowhunters and Downworlders alike. Seizing victory in the archery challenge, even against a formidable faerie from the Wild Hunt, he showcased his unparalleled skills. At the tender age of twenty-one, Alexander was already positioned as a luminary figure in key diplomatic endeavors, having played pivotal roles in two treaties and two wars.

On the precipice of marriage to Magnus Bane, the esteemed High Warlock of Brooklyn, Alexander and Magnus formed one of the most potent power couples in the Shadow World. Magnus, a paragon of strength and intellect, claimed the top spot in the knowledge challenge. Adding the fact that the couple had already embraced parenthood, adopting young Max a year ago, further solidifying my decision to choose them.

Initially, I had been a tad of uncertain about entrusting my cherished son to a household with two warlocks. However, when I had realized what was truly bothering me, I couldn't help but blush in shame at my own unfounded prejudice. At the end of the day, my fervent wish is for my youngs on, Rafael, to find boundless happiness, love, and unwavering protection within the embrace of his newfound family. May fortune smile upon him, much like it has graced the rest of the Lightwood clan.

Additionally, I hope he discovers a steadfast and supportive parabatai who will walk alongside him through life's journey. My deepest dream is that Rafael flourishes under the capable hands o fAlexander. I fervently wish that my precious son receives guidance and nurturing far beyond what I could ever provide. I don't care if Alexander believe sme to be a monster for offering my own son up, I know that it was the right decision to approach him that day.

"How can I assist you, Mrs. Branwell?" Alec inquired, guiding me to a more secluded setting where we could converse privately.

"My husband... he perished during the Dark War," I confided, sorrow evident as I blinked away tears threatening to cascade from my eyes.
