Tree Man 1.
It or he was huge, massive in height and build.
She could confidently say he was well over 7ft, which intimidated her small stature of 4'11. Her eyes gazed over the huge creature, honey brown bark crept up his forearm yet not covering his bicep. Long black talon like almond shape nails were dripping with a black substance.
The honey-oak also covered the sides of his torso though never engulfing his muscular chest or middle torso where oddly enough there was no belly button.
Further inspecting him she realized nothing was covering his lower half other than a long piece of wool that covered his manhood and backside. That if a light wind came he'd be completely exposed, her cheeks and ears heated at the thought.
Bark crawled up his calves and almost fully covered his feet as well. Her mouth had dropped open once she realized his whole body had been covered in both dry and fresh blood.
How did I not see that before?
Something told her it wasn't his own, because there was only one open gash in his skin and that was on his arm.
Maybe he's a survivor? Or he could be who everyone was running from. She sure as hell wanted to run!
But her feet wouldn't move from it's spot. His breathing was heavy as his chest rose and fell quickly. She could hear him clearly as if he'd been right in front of her, yet she was crouched behind a tree with her hand pressed against the bark to balance her on her toes. The thin tree that was literally a few feet away from the thing..or man...or.. Tree Man or.. whatever!
He was so tall that even a few feet away she couldn't see his face without craning her neck up..and when she did the sun ray beamed so bright across his face she couldn't even make out the outline of his head.
An itchy sensation struck her hand as she went to scratch it, instead she definitely didn't come in contact with her other hand. Taking a deep breath hoping to God it was an huge ant. She let her eyes retreat from the Tree Man to glance at her hand and let out a screech so loud even she winced.
Completely forgetting about the weird man she swatted and tripped over herself trying to remove the fury spider off.
One thing that she was petrified of was insects with more than four legs...and this mutated spider had eight and four freaking eyes! She picked up a thick branch off the floor and pounded the spider until she was sure it was no longer a threat.
"Aaron could give me the "They're more afraid of you than you are of them" speech as many times as he wants. I'm NOT buying it." she scoffed.
Breathing a sigh of relief she dropped the branch and wiped her forehead of the light sweat that began pricking her pores. Something skid across her back and she let out another screech tripping over the branch she'd just dropped, falling.
"Holy shit Fenix get a hold of yourself it's just your hair." she mumbled cursing her clumsy tendencies. Grabbing the elastic off her thin wrist she pulled her curly poof into a higher ponytail so that it was off her neck.
A loud growl sounded, her eyes flew back to the place where the Tree Man was previously standing...but he was no longer there. Now she was really panicking, her breathing sped up she ended up right in front of the tree she was hiding behind when she was swatting the spider, he had to of seen her.
She paused.
Hot breathing was felt and loudly heard on her neck, she snapped her head back and there he was up close.
Blood Ruby eyes beaming in hers, they felt invasive. As if he could see her soul and all her thoughts and secret. It put an uneasy feeling in her stomach, as if she stood infront of the man bare.
Suddenly she wished she hadn't ate this morning.
Unruly hair outgrown framed his sharp chiseled jaw and cheeks. There were many fresh lacerations and deep gashes on his face. Dark brown hair fell from his forehead damp in sweat and blood. His aroma was terrifyingly intoxicating. Not at all how you think a man drenched in blood and sweat would be. Not like any cologne or body wash either. He smelt of spices, raw nature, and...fear?
She'd attempted to speak, but her words fumbled and she ended up sounding like a lamb on it's way to the slaughter house.
This time forming a sentence in her head about his gash in his arm taking a deep breath she tried again.
"U- ..I- If you need help bandaging up-" she paused motioning her head to his arm. But his gaze never left hers, his eyebrows furrowed and his eyes grew darker. A growl escaped his lips causing her to slightly shriek and crab walk backwards.
"I-uh have food water...and u-m shelter." Her words relieved his cautious eyes slightly, realizing she posed no threat to him, he sized her up. She didn't reek of any potions or of dog. She was afraid of her own hair for crying out loud.
After a few moments he nodded in agreement, standing up in front of her waiting to be led. She smiled triumphantly.
Aaron will be glad to know I found a survivor! She thought as she led the way back to her house.
