"Jeez Fenix! Do you have a death wish?" Haley gaped from her bed scared to approach.

"I mean but, look at him." Fenix pouted her bottom lip staring at the little yellow fella eating the bread she snuck him.

Haley's eyes buldged as she slowly emerged from her bed and joined the two on the floor.

"Okay stop looking at me like that Hail, they were abusing him. I kinda saved him!" She offered a grin to her new friend.

"I mean he doesn't bite right?  What is he? " Fenix asked, and then face palmed. She absolutely hated when Peri or anyone else spoke on her behalf. She decided it would be polite to ask him directly.

"Me? I'm fariy. Rare. Rare male fairy. Useless." He stuttered between chewing.

Fenix was still pretty confused, "I'm Fenix, I'm 18. You are?"

"Fairy is unsure." he scratched his head.

"Fairy is your species or name?" Fenix head was spinning with all the new species and titles she had to remember and adapt to. It seemed her mind had been on overload the past four hours.

"Fairy has no name."

"That's okay, I'm kind of new here as well. I have a name but no species. You have a species and no name." A smile crept up on her face. For the first time she didn't feel completely alone in her situation.

"I'm Hailey, I've never seen a male fairy." she reached her hand out to touch his tattered mustard wings, "can you fly?"

He glanced at his wings and sighed, they curled towards his shoulders as if to self soothe.

"Fairy never tried." he looked around the room hoping from one spot to the other curious.

"Are you full now?" He shook his head satisfied.

"Hailey can he sleep in here? In like a draw or something?"

"Absolutely not!" She protested.

"Just one night and then-"

"I can't, I would but I can't."

"Hailey just please-"

"Fenix." a deep raspy voice boomed from the other side of Hailey's door.

The two almost had a heart attack right then and there. Hailey slapped the jar under the bed. Fenix stuffed her face with the remaining piece of bread and quickly pushed Fairy behind Hailey's full body mirror.

"I'm uh, I'm coming just this second." She straightened her clothes and approached the door, throwing an apologetic kiss to Hailey on her way out.
