    The fact that Fenix hadn't been eating finally began to take a toll on her, her teeth ached, tongue dry, stomach rumbled as well as the constant dizzy spells and weakness. Peri had come and gone often, he'd sleep there disappear to the bathroom and then leave her in the bedroom for over 12 hours with nothing to do but look out of barred windows and read old boring books. They'd shared the bed, she often woke in the middle of the night to one of his large arms draped across her chest, apart from that they shared no physical contact at all. On the bright side, she was no longer chained to the bed, she was clean had been taking care of her hygiene and general maintenance . She held her stomach, as it groaned. Peri appeared from the bathroom and watched her carefully, "Oh now you're hungry, Daveen told me he was wasting his time bringing food to you because you refused to eat anything." he teased. 

The big scary man's name is Daveen. 

Noted, she thought triumphantly. 

"I couldn't eat then," her voice was a whisper barely audible.

 "Hmph, what do you eat?" he adjust the towel on his waist and it was then that Fenix realized he was half naked. She was usually knocked out when he emerged from the bathroom the last few days. His body was incredible, broad and muscular. If he didn't sound scar

 "Um, uh anything..cereal?"  she was clearly distracted and nervous by his lack of clothing.

     "Have you never seen a naked man? " he smirked approaching her on the bed.

 "No" she whispered.

"So what you're nervous?" he laughed. She felt self conscious and looked down at her fingers slapping her nails together. She loved them, they always grew long and thick, like her hair.

 He threw his head back and laughed reaching his hand out to her knee, she winced. He let his black talons run along her. He could scent her confusion. She was oblivious to her reaction to him.  A knock at the door, followed by Haley coming in with an old Teen Vogue magazine made Fenix rise to her feet on the opposite side of the bed. Haley put down the magazine on the coffee table and warily rushed to hug Fenix. "Fe" she exclaimed in a whisper. "You're in dire need of a brush." they chuckled. Peri as always ignored them. "Hales!" she squeezed her back. Peri disappeared into the bathroom and Haley pushed the food towards her and whispered. "What the hell happened to you" she gestured to the fresh lacerations of his talons. Fenix gasped, she didn't realize he was cutting her, he carved the word 'PURE' into her thigh.

    "I'm, I..I'm fine..." she stuffed her face with food in a desperate attempt to avoid her and Perilous most recent tragedy

Then a series of coughing and sputtering interrupted the silence.

"Do you have Zerain Powder?" she asked

 "I'm sorry , what?" Haley chuckled. 

"I don't eat anything without it backhome Anthony said i need it.." Fenix ran her tongue around the insides of her mouth, the food taste like garbage without it. She gagged. Every tooth in her mouth ached more than earlier and she began to groan. 

"Hales, my teeth hurt." she whined. "I dunno what to tell you, that's odd. Merridith can probably transport whatever the hell your talking about here though. I'll go fetch her." she up and ran. Fenix called a thanks out to her while she waited for her return. Absentmindedly tracing the word on her thigh.

      About thirty minutes passed and Meredith, Haley, Peri, accompanied by another smaller young man was staring at Fenix in the kitchen dumbfounded.

 "Umm?" she twirled on the stool confused. 

Then Merridith spoke, "That Vitamin powder," she paused raising it in her hand, "Who gave it to you?" it was a simple question but s's, t's, and c's rolled off of Meredith's tongue like a snake.

 "Uh, my brother..it's so I can get all the nutrients and vitamins I need since you know the earthquakes. We don't have much doctors it's best to keep my immune system healthy than to get sick and you  know..die."she shrugged annoyed at the interrogation.

 "Before I turned. I spent a lot of time on Earth, I've never heard of that in my life." the young man spoke up.

 "So? What's you guy's point?" she looked around.

 "It's a weapon herb you poor fool, your brother has been spiking your food with vervain mixed with sugar." Meredith said.

 "Is that why when she touched my hand it felt like it was burning?" Peri chimed in draining a blood bag from the fridge.

 "No, vervain has never even had an affect on you." he shrugged.

 "What is vervain?" Fenix questioned looking toward Haley. "Vervain is a herb that makes supernaturals weak if they consume or come in contact with it." she explained. "So my brother was trying to protect me?" Fenix asked her heart warmed at the thought. "Maybe, but that wouldn't necessarily protect you in such small doses unless a supernatural ate you..they'll be ,nauseous but regardless you'd die." Haley went on.  Perilous grew impatient and grabbed Fenix by the cheeks,

        "Open your mouth." he ordered. She complied. He took his blood bag and squeezed it in her mouth. "EW!" Fenix tried to spit it out but majority of the silky blood had slipped down her throat. Her teeth began to ache again, so much so that she began balling crying. "Fenix what's wrong?"  Haley ran to her side. She dropped on the floor and twitched in agony, every tooth in her mouth felt like acid was consuming them.

 "It feels like my teeth are being pulled out! MAKE IT STOP!" she thrived in pain on the floor. Merridith laughed. The young man rushed to assist her, putting her in his lap on the floor.

 Perilous growled. On the que the young lad stood and took a step back. 

"She's just teething." he smirked, his face looked that of a teacher would to a studious student, prideful. "My pure little human key, is no human at all."
