Mitch's POV
Working with Kirstin felt weird. I didn't know what to think of the situation. It was simply mind boggling for me. Tonight, the most unpopular girl and the most popular guy are going to create a sweet ass duet... Many people would think that that is the craziest idea ever.
"Hey Mitch," Kirstin said startling me, "we should probably get going," I nodded quickly and followed Kirstin out the front doors. I texted Clara and waited at the pick up area for the familiar limo to appear. Soon I spotted the long, narrow vehicle and waved her over. Kirstin stood there with her jaw dropped open. She seemed speechless.
"You're one of those kids, aren't you?" she asked. I nodded.
"Of course I am," I chuckled lightly and opened the limo door, "after you miss," she gave me a small smile before stepping into the car. I followed.
"Hi Clara!" I said cheerfully earning a smile from Clara.
"Hi Mitch! Who's this lovely lady?" she asked. Clara knows damn well that I am dating Catt, and she doesn't like it, one. Bit. So whenever I bring a friend that happens to be female, she secretly hopes and prays that I've moved on from Catt. Of course she is wrong and mistaken.
"This is Kirstin. She is my friend and my duet partner," Clara frowned at the word friend. Kirstin smiled at Clara.
"It's very nice to meet you," she said kindly. Clara's smile returned.
"Nice to meet you too Kirstin. I would shake your hand but obviously I'm driving so, I'll give you a formal greeting once we reach the Grassi household," Kirstin nodded. She then turned to me.
"Let me guess, you live in a mansion. It's full of glamorous things? Oh and I'm guessing we're doing it at your house only because of your dance studio," I chuckled.
"Don't forget about the music room and recording studio," Kirstin giggled and threw her hands up in the air.
"Well excuse me if not all of us live a privileged life," we both giggled and turned our heads to my window. There it was, the Grassi household. Kirstin's jaw dropped yet again.
"My mom likes nice landscaping," I said as I watched Kirstin's eyes graze the beautiful flowers which stood next to a giant fountain. Clara got out of limo and opened the door for me and Kirstin. We walked into the giant doors, and into what my parents call 'the open room' because of the high ceilings and windows. I led Kirstin into the kitchen and opened up the large fridge.
"Would you like anything to eat?" I grabbed an apple.
"I'll have an apple too I guess," Kirstin said. I tossed her an apple, she caught it, and took a bite out of it. "Holy crap these are good," she said shocked. I chuckled and reached for my backpack. I took out my turning shoes for dance and Kirstin followed my actions, also taking out her shoes.
"Just wait until you see the dance studio," I said excitedly. It was cool to show someone around my house, especially when I knew they actually wanted to see it. I guided her down a tall hallway. There was a double door which I opened to reveal the large dance studio.
"This dance studio has a second floor where I design all of my costumes," I explained, "we'll look at it later, but for now, let's start the dance!" I plugged my phone into the AUX cord and listened to the song once through. Kirstin then lightened up once the song finished.
"This song shows a lot of emotion. Missing someone is something that's so hard to go through, but we will see that person again. I think we should start apart while the song is light, once all of the parts join the chorus we should dance together to show the happiness the person feels when they see their loved one or their friend," I smiled.
"A very detailed explanation which I highly agree with. We should create little solos at the beginning to show each persons life going on, then we should do the same movement before all of the parts start singing," I suggested. Kirstin grinned and nodded her head.
"Yes! That's perfect!" She squealed, "ok so let's create a solo for you first then we'll go to my solo," she explained. I nodded and took centre stage. For about an hour we worked on my solo. Kirstin and I decided to add little moves that would be the same throughout each of the solos. After we worked on my solo, we moved onto Kirstin's solo, then finally the moment when the two solos combine to form that perfect duet. Kirstin is a very good partner. She and I have this trust bond thingy that I just don't get. We've only just met and haven't had a very good first impression on one another. Yet she and I both know that we trust each other. That's why we went above and beyond on the duet. I have to lift Kirstin up sometimes, and she trusts me. Once we finished the beginning of the duet part, we recorded ourselves to see how it looked.
"Wow. We look amazing," I said in shock. Kirstin nodded.
"Yeah it's amazing how many aspects there are to this piece," she said with a light giggle. I nodded.
"We'll work on the rest on Wednesday right?" I suggested. She nodded and took off her turning shoes.
"Yes, then if you want, and this is just a suggestion, we can polish the piece at your house again?" You could tell it was hard for her to ask that.
"Yeah totally," I said with a smile. Kirstin smiles back and grabbed her school bag.
"My mom is here so I better get going. Thanks for being amazing!" She said with a grin before exciting the room. That girl is confusing my mind, but I most definitely don't like her in anyway more than a friend. I just thought I'd let you know.
