Mitch's POV
"Today's your last day Mitch," Mr Olusola said with a huge smile. I fist pumped as I sat on my hospital bed."Is my head going to be okay?" I asked anxiously. Mr Olusola nodded his head.
"For the most part yes. You may have migraines every so often but I have medication for you to take if that does happen," he then places a bottle of pills next to my bed. "Just take one and if your migraines lasts all day, please wait 8 hours before taking another one," I nodded in understanding.
"My mom will give them to me because she's overprotective," I said with a light smile. Mr Olusola nodded and put my prescription on the table next to me. (A/N Idk about y'all but in Canada we have free health care... Do you have to pay for hospital stays in America? If so then I'll include it here.😁)
"Can you please tell me what you and Kirstin were talking about?" I practically pleaded. Mr Olusola chuckled and pulled up a chair next to me.
"I thought you and Kirstin were dating so I simply asked her. She said you guys were very good friends," I sighed.
"Okay but that still doesn't explain why you were winking at her two days ago," Mr Olusola broke out laughing yet again.
"Oh right! I also told her that my wife and I used to say that about each other all the time. Boy I have three children now. One in fact goes to your school," I smiled and blushed as Mr Olusola spoke. (A/N yes it was a dark Crimson Hannah😉) .
"Really? What's his name?" I asked curiously.
"Kevin. He's majoring in music," I smiled.
"I'm majoring in dance but I do take music," Mr Olusola nodded. "Now back to Kirstin. I don't think she likes me in a more-than-a-friend kind of way," I said as a sad smile creeped onto my face. Mr Olusola smirked at me.
"And how do you feel about her?" Mr Olusola asked crossing one leg over the other. I sighed.
"I must admit I have grown feelings for her," Mr Olusola put on the biggest smile I've ever seen ever.
"Why don't you tell her that?" He asked. I shrugged.
"I just don't think she likes me like that you know? What if I ask her and make a complete fool out of myself. I don't want to lose our friendship because of that," he shook his head.
"Well you'll never know until you find out," I nodded and sighed. I knew where Kirstin and I stood, we were friends. Being just friends for me wasn't enough. I needed more. I just hope she feels the same way. As I was thinking and talking with Mr Olusola, Kirstin slowly opens the door and smiles when she sees me.
"Good morning sir," she says happily.
"Good morning Kirstin! Mitch and I were just talking about a girl Mitch likes," I looked at him speechless. He gets up and whispers in my ear. "Jealousy can do some pretty amazing things," I gasped and broke out laughing.
"Yeah she's super nice. I've hung out with her a lot," Kirstin's demeanour completely changed and I could tell she was getting jealous.
"Mitch was actually planning to take her on a date," my eyes widened but I went with it.
"Totally. I was going to take her there on Saturday," I could tell Kirstin was fake smiling.
"I'm happy for you Mitchy," I smiled at the nickname, "I'm going to go to Starbucks do you want anything?" I nodded.
"Ice soy latte triple please?" I said with a smile. Kirstin nodded and waved goodbye. Once she was for sure gone Mr Olusola turned to me.
"Okay so here's the plan. You'll "accidentally" text her to meet you at Starbucks at 11:00 on Saturday then you'll retort and say that was for your date. Knowing her she'll come and spy on you then bam! You make the move," I chuckled nervously.
"Sounds easier said than done but okay. Just by curiosity, how'd you come up with that?" Mr Olusola chuckled.
"That's how my first date with my wife went. Except I actually got stood up," my eyes widened.
"Who knew getting stood up could end so well," he chuckled.
"I know. I don't regret asking her to hang out with me that day though," I nodded happily.
"Can I leave in a few hours?" I asked anxiously. Mr Olusola shook his head.
"You're leaving tomorrow morning but I talked to your parents and you're allowed to miss one more day of school," I sighed and looked down. "See you in a few for your check up!" I smiled and waved goodbye as he exited the door. There I sat. My bandaged head aching, my heart beating fast as I thought about Saturday. I need coffee. And a girlfriend. I chuckled, I had just lost my other girlfriend and I already want a new one... How weird is that? I guess I've always consciously had feelings for Kirstin, I just couldn't bring myself to realize it because at the time I had Catt. Or Cattelina as I now want to call her. I only want to call her by her original name because she hates it. Plus I'm the only one she's ever told about her real name. I thought it was pretty but she said the popular group didn't like it and they changed it to Catt. A very "cool" name indeed. As I was thinking about it Kirstin walks through the door quite annoyed.
"Here's your drink," she lightly slams the drink onto my side table. I put my hands up in surrender.
"What's up with you?" I ask sassily, "if you're going to give me attitude don't do it right now," she chuckles lightly.
"Sorry I just felt angry," I family cock an eyebrow at her.
"Oooh do you like someone but they've met someone else?" I tease even though I know the answer to that question. Thanks Olusola for clearing that up.
"How did you know?" She asked with a smile. I shrugged.
"I don't know, isn't that the only thing teenage girls care about nowadays. You know, besides makeup," Kirstin gasps and shakes her head.
"I have you know Grassi that I care about my studies, music and spending money the way it should be spent," I smirk.
"Oh so you only spend your money on Starbucks," I tease. Kirstin throws her hands up in the air.
"I just spent my money on you, are you trying to say my money was not well spent on you?" I glare at her playfully. "I would throw this drink at you if you weren't having a head injury right now. I chuckled and grabbed onto her hand. She was obviously surprised but she let it slide.
"Thanks for visiting me so much!" I said with a smile whilst squeezing her hand. She smiled at me.
"Anytime Grassi! Now I better get home for dinner. See you at school on Friday?" I nodded. She leaned forward and kissed my cheek. "Get better kissyboy," she said with a wink causing me to laugh.
"Please Maldonadon't," I said making her glare playfully at me.
"Well played," was all she said before she shut the door, leaving me to laugh all by my lonesome.
