A/N: I'm free! I'm so happy! I made this update kind of short so I could get back into the grove of this whole writing thing again. 😁
As always: Comment & Vote!"You can't ignore me forever Puppy."
I thought my hiding place was good--clearly it wasn't as Scott stooped down to look at me. I rolled away. "Puppy please. I'm sorry."
"I'm not Danny and I won't ever be. I'm Puppy. And you hate me."
"I don't hate you," he said sharply. "I was just...frustrated last night. Forget I said anything. Come cuddle with me?"
My skin crawled at the thought. "You did mean it," I argued. "You said I was difficult and bad. I'd like some alone time now please."
"You've had alone time all day. I let you have time without me even trying to talk to you. But we need to talk through this."
"You're talking too fast." I moaned rolling onto my stomach.
"Puppy--"
"Leave me alone!"
Scott sighed loudly and angrily. He sat down beside my hiding place. I buried my face in my arms. "I really messed up Puppy." He said gently. "And I've done so a lot. I shouldn't compare you to Danny. It's not fair to you. You're right--you're not Danny you're Puppy."
"I'm Puppy," I mumbled in agreement.
"Yes you are. And you're a brave, special boy who I love. The fact that I hurt you is unforgivable. Saying sorry just enough and I know that."
"It hurts," I whispered, voice wavering.
"Have you taken a bath yet?"
"I took a little shower," I mumbled after a moment.
"Why don't I go run you a bath. That will help you feel better."
"I feel icky inside."
Scott hummed after a moment. "Would you like to talk to Robtoy again?"
"The man from the day I broke your phone?"
"Yes. Good job remembering."
"I like him!" I popped my head out. "Will you really let me talk to him?"
"Of course," I smiled. "Let's go start that bath."
Scott
Puppy limped along behind me and I began to worry a bit. It was a pointed exaggeration--he seemed truly hurt.
I hoped warm water would help him some and I really doubted him letting me look. I ran the bath and added some shampoo to make bubbles. Puppy was standing in the doorway looking at the foaming water excitedly. "Those are a lot of bubbles," he commented excitedly.
I smiled at him. "Would you like for me to leave so you can get undressed."
Puppy faltered a minute. "No..." He finally said hesitantly. "I-I still like you like that."
I was relieved to hear it. He stepped into the bathroom and took off his shirt remembering to put in the hamper. But when he pulled down his pants I saw blood in his underwear. "Oh no," he muttered. "I ruined another one! I'm sorry Scott."
"Puppy have you been bleeding since last night?"
Puppy bit his lip. "Are you mad?"
"No of course not!" He needed to see a doctor. "Get into the tub. I'm going to have someone come look at you."
"No! I don't want people to look at me there."
"I understand that but you might be really hurt."
Tears filled his eyes. "But you hurt me. Am I being punished?"
"No Puppy." I felt a bit sick to my stomach. "Get on in the bath. I've got to make a quick call. I'll check in shortly."
He nodded his head and I dunked out, worriedly running my fingers through my hair. He may not have wanted to be checked out but it was imperative that he was.
He could be seriously hurt.
I found myself suddenly questioning if I was truly any better than Connor.
QOTC: Is Scott overreacting or should be concerned?
