Scott poured the beer into a coffee mug and I slipped out of sight.

I wasn't sure why he was hiding how much he was drinking--he was an adult and if he wanted to get drunk that was his right. "What'd I miss?"

Scott sat down a bit unsteadily and I grew a bit upset. This was supposed our first night as a couple since it happened. And he was in his arm chair while I was on the couch. "You'd know if you watched any," I replied sullenly.

"Sorry--needed caffeine," he lied taking a drink. "You've got my full attention now!"

"Until you need another drink?"

Scott sighed in defeat. "Kyle texted me."

"What?" I was horrified and ecstatic all at once. "What's happened to him?"

"No idea. I've sent him like three paragraphs worth of questions and since he doesn't have an iPhone I don't even know if he's seen them."

"Why did you wait so long to tell me?" I was hurt. We had just a break through about being honest.

"I didn't want to spoil the night. I was going to tell you Charlie. I just hoped to have more information." He took another drink.

"You're going to be hung over tomorrow if you keep on like that," I commented.

Scott nodded his head setting it aside. "I'm just stressed. Drinking makes it worse but I do it anyway."

I got up and smiled a bit, taking the mug. "I'll get you some water. We can go talk in our room if you want?"

"Have you moved your things back?" He asked excitedly.

I smiled. "I only took my pillow," I teased. "And I'll grab it."

"I can't wait to have you in my arms." He commented.

I blushed a bit. "Thank you."

***

"This feels right."

"Does it now?" His erection was pressing into my back.

"Mmhm." He kissed my neck hungrily.

I giggled and shifted to face him. "Were supposed to be talking not fucking."

He smacked my ass sharply and I gasped. "Language."

"Seriously?"

"Try me," he teased.

"What's your plan with Kyle?"

Scott sighed and laid his head back on the pillow. "I don't know. It's Bailey's decision ultimately. He's been gone for over a year now--a lot can happen in a year."

"He missed his son's first year," I commented. "And left Bailey at the hospital."

"I thought you wanted Kyle back?"

"I do! Or maybe I'm still mad at Leah. I don't know. Kyle was a real jerk though."

Scott scoffed. "If that's what you call mentally and physically impairing your sub, yeah."

The Bailey now was different from the Bailey then. But... I shook my head. "You're right. It'll be Bailey's choice ultimately."

Scott hugged me tightly and sit his chin on my shoulder. "I have a question."

"Shoot," he murmured.

"What about your sister?"

He stiffened a bit behind me. "What about her?"

"Have you tried contacting her?"

"She doesn't want to hear from me. What I did was...unforgivable."

"Scott--"

"I slept with my stepfather behind my mother's back Charlie. That's not a light betrayal. I only wish I hadn't been so selfish. I left them with nothing."

"Your mother worked didn't she?"

"She had to. I'll never forget the look on their faces. It was...pure disbelief. Disgust."

"It's been years. I'm sure they'd want to hear from you. To make sure you're okay."

"You have no idea--"

"Connor really hurt me. But I still care about him."

"Good to know," Scott replied flatly.

"Not like that. You can't really cut someone from your life. You can't say you don't think about them?"

"Every day. But enough about that please."

"Okay."

Leah was making scrambled egg whites for Kingsley when I got up the next morning.

"'Morning," she commented, tone a bit chipped. "Bailey is laying down with another migraine--thank you by the way."

"I didn't mean to and you know that," I countered angrily.

"I don't care. He's had four panic attacks so far. Do you understand how traumatized he is from the last time he was pushed 'accidentally'?" Leah turned off the burner. "You may hate me for being Bailey. I don't give a shit if you do, in fact. All I've seen you do is piss and moan like a brat since I got here. But Bailey likes you. And, we used to be friends once upon a time."

"Are you done with your little speech?" I asked dryly.

She glared at me. "Almost. Bailey and I are happy together. And when we're arguing it stresses him out. So when he's around, we're the best of friends. Understand?"

"I'm your boss, not the other way around." I countered angrily.

"No. Scott is. And I'm still a Domme and I deserve your respect. Understood?"

"Whatever," I seethed, storming outside.

Scott was meeting with a client and I didn't want to bug him. So I took Charcoal out of the stables and saddled him up.

Bailey was lying down but maybe...

Scott didn't like the horses walking on the lawn but I did so anyway. I rounded the house, seeing Scott giving me a sharp look over the woman's shoulder.

I dunked my head and continued. Once under Bailey's window I tossed a few pieces of a gravel until the shades moved and the window opened. "Puppy what are--Charcoal!" A small lopsided smile appeared in his face.

"Come ride with me!"

He faltered. "I don't know..."

"I'll help you." I smiled. "Like you used to help me."

He bit his lip and then nodded slowly. "Okay. It'll be a minute though. I have to get Leah to help me down the stairs."

I fought the urge to roll my eyes and nodded. "Tell her Scott says it's okay."

She can't argue with that.

He nodded and closed the window.
