Chapter 5
Saturday. It's Saturday. Only 6 more hours until the party. Jason has asked me to go early, to help get things ready. Which means only 4 hours. I can do this. I know I can.
"Luke, are you sure you're going to be okay at this party?" my mum asked, her voice filled with concern.
I nodded and lifted my glass of orange juice to my lips.
"I'm just concerened Luke. After the last par--"
"Mum! That was over 2 years ago. I'm fine now, I don't feel like that anymore." I slammed the glass onto the counter. "I'm sorry!"
My mum just looked at me. I knew that she knew that I felt like this. She knew that I was back to my old ways. But for some reason I'm convincing myself that I'm fine.
I sighed and I knocked on Jason's door.
"Wait a second!" I heard him yell inside. I smiled to myself. Taking a deep breath. The door flung open to reveal a half naked Jason in front of me. I forgot to breathe and I slightly choked. Jesus christ.
"Come in. Remember to breathe next time!" he joked as I followed him inside of his warm house.
I laughed and let myself fall onto the couch. Jason throwing himself beside me.
"I'm so excited! I was thinking you can stay over tonight, because we've not seen each other in a while!" Jason looked at me with a giant smile. I was going to say no, but I couldn't resist.
"Sure! I'll text my mum!"
We both sat in silence watching an episode of Dr Who. Jason lay down, placing his head on my lap, not taking his eyes off of the tv. My heart raced.
Naked. Jason. Me.
I don't like these feelings. I'm madly in love with my best friend. It's weird. It's not normal. I'm not normal.
Dubstep filled my ears. It's as if the music was making my body vibrate. Everything is going fine. So far. I've talked to a few people. Some close friends. But, they seemed on edge. Or maybe it's me that's on edge.
"LUKEE BABBYYY" I turned to see a girl. FUCK. The same girl that made me feel shit the whole way through high school. She made out that she liked me, she led me on, she made me a laughing stock.
"Hi April..."
She was getting closer. "What happened to you?"
I looked at her, confused. "What?"
"You're not ugly anymore!" I couldn't tell if she was being nasty or nice. "I'm guessing you aren't a depressed weirdo anymore. Oh have your scars gone?" She picked up my arm and examined it. "No. You're still an ugly freak!" She let out a high pitched laugh and walked away.
Tears filled my eyes. I made my way to find Jason. Bodies hit into me as I squeezed myself past them. I spotted him. Chatting to a group of guys.
"I um, Jason, I am going to um..." Finding it difficult to talk. "go home, yeah, that's what i'm going to do!"
I turned on my heels and headed for the front door. I heard laughter from the guys that Jason was talking to. Tears falling faster.
The cold air hit me hard. My legs carried me down the street as fast as they could go.
"Luke! stop!" I turned around to see Jason.
"No. Jason, I can't do this anymore. I can't. Just leave me alone!" I ran as fast as I could. Hoping Jason would follow me, but he didn't. He had turned back, went back to his party with his other friends.
so, I hope you liked it. It's going to get better, I promise. Pretty pretty please leave feedback! And if you'd like to give me any ideas to add to this then i'd appreciate it a lot!
