Chapter14 – Locksley's hope
Lilywas freezing sitting on a branch next to John. He looked out forsomething and Lily joined him after some time. She wanted to see ifGuy had found her but she knew too well he was searching for Robinfor almost one year and had no idea where the men of Sherwood forestwere hiding.
Suddenlythe forest was alive and Lily heard voices screaming and shouting forJohn. He stood up and was tall like a giant. With his huge hands hegrabbed a stick and stepped in front of her. John didn't calm seeingMuch another man joining them with their eyes wide open. "Gisborne!He is burning Locksley! He has lost his mind and the fire... Robintries to save everyone. Come! Run! He needs help!"
Lilyshook her head. She didn't want to believe the lies told about herhero. She wanted to hurt him and punch his chest but instead sheslowly followed John. In her servant dress she wasn't as fast as theman running into the dust. Smoke crawled into her lungs and everystep pain made it more difficult for her to breathe. Lily's throatfelt tight and she knew she needed fresh air or would faceconsequences.
Thefire was getting visible and somewhere in the smoke she lost Robin'smen. John wasn't seen anywhere but Lily knew she wasn't looking forhim. John wanted to see Guy. She wanted him to know she was still hisloyal servant and he was her hero whom she trusted.
"Hey!"
Handsgrabbed shoulders when she couldn't see anything in front of hereyes. Lily didn't recognize the man but felt she was leading her fromsmoke and heat. His arm pulled her closer to him and once her eyessaw clearly again she saw the estate.
Guy.
Shewanted to thank him and scream his name with a smile on her butinstead it was Alan who grinned at her. "Good, for a moment Ithought you faint any moment. You walked straight to the fire andthis is all Gisborne's fault. Robin wants to ... well, he doesn'thave a plan yet but I have. Gisborne started the fire because you aregone. Maybe he really cares for someone and... you can bring us hope"
