I woke up to the sound of Naomi's voice. "Oliver, Oliver! OLIVER WAKE UP!" She yelled in my ear. I woke up scared, and dived out of bed. Naomi giggled at me in a cute way.

"Not funny," I tried telling her seriously. But I smiled, and blushed. Was I becoming attracted to her? Already? Holy shit.

"You could never stay mad at me," She expressed to me. I wasn't sure about that. She seemed like she was flirting, but I didn't know if this was normal or not between friends. I also didn't trust her one hundred percent yet. Same with when I first met Elias.

"Sure," I sarcastically told her. She just looked at me with her deep blue eyes. She bit her lip and smiled.

"Well, today we will go out and try to find supplies that is needed for the plan, okay cutie?" She informed me. I shook my head in agreement.

Wait, did she just call me cutie? Did she like me back? I wasn't sure, as I never knew a girl before. Everyone in the group that I was in were men. I just shrugged it off.

"Do we have food?" She asked as she pointed at my backpack, "What's in there?" I opened it and showed her the mini cooler we found back in San Francisco. The meat was still frozen. "Good, you go out and get the supplies, and I'll cook us food!"

"Why won't you come?"

"Let me prepare the food!" She demanded. I nodded my head and sighed, got my stuff around, and left the building.

It was raining outside. She gave me the hoodie in case of this. I pulled out my gun and made sure it was loaded. Who knows if I would come across those cannibals. I walked down the alley way. I felt something grab my feet; making me jump. I looked down to see a mangled Beast, growling at me. It's intestines were out of it's body; mangled and twisted and covered in maggots and flies. I stomped on its head; making blood and brain paint the pavement.

I continued walking down the alley. It split off into right or left on a main road. To the right is where I came from, the old train station. The left was unexplored, at least for me. I walked down the road and I saw a sign that said: "Government FEMA camp to the right." I decided to take the right, since I figured the camp might have leftover supplies in it. You wouldn't believe what people leave behind. I walked for about a mile, passing the usual casinos, bars, and restaurants; all of which were taken over by Mother Nature.

Then I saw it, what looked like the camp dead ahead. I got closer to see the remnants of the camp. Some gates were strewn all over the concrete. This suggested the Beasts got to them. I went closer to see tents strewn about and two buildings. I investigated further to see boxes in neat rows. I saw one was open, and a Beast was over it. It looked like it was eating something from it. I got as close to it as possible, without it noticing me. It was eating remains. Human remains.

I looked at the Beast as it feasted upon the intestines of a random human. The thing hasn't noticed me yet. But it was in my; preventing me from going any further. There was also no way to sneak around it at all. I came up with a plan of attack. The Beast was facing me sideways. So, I had to go around and slowly attack it from behind. I snuck as slowly as possible. It still didn't seem to notice me. I was now a few yards from it. I got closer and closer. My heart was pounding harder and harder every second. I was nervous that this wouldn't work. I was now only a yard away from it. Then pure horror entered my blood. I stepped on a twig, and it made a loud, crack noise. The Beast turned around, and ran at me. It got too close for me to shoot it. The thing made a loud hiss. It then grabbed me around my neck, inching its face closer to mine. Trying to bite my face off. I punched it in the side of it's face and gave it a sharp uppercut after, making it fall on the ground. I stomped on it's face, making brains splatter all over the ground and on my boots. I looked down at the Beast and sighed. I decided to investigate the human remains in the box.
