We slowly walked to the left to find that thing went. We purposefully walked slowly, just in case it was a Dusk and we need to sneak up on it to kill it. Jeffrey walked right in front of me, trying to be careful while we kept our guard up.

"Kid we need to be extremely quiet. I'm serious here." Jeffrey whispered with his thick accent coming through. I nodded my head in agreement. Of course we had to be quiet... Neither one of us knew who or what made that sound and glided past us. I had my gun between my two hands, ready for it. I was nervous as we walked down into the dark hallway. We kept hearing noises, which dragged us closer and closer to what was making those noises. Every few seconds we would hear a loud bang, making us jump and quickly glance around to make sure it wasn't from somewhere else before walking dead ahead.

We got to a room that had a metal door knocked down. In the room, we peered in. What I saw was horrifying and something that should be hidden in the dark recess of our minds. What I saw was the thing nightmares. It was a silver winged creature with insect like features. Its entire body seemed to be coated in silver, and for added affect, it had six legs which stemmed out from its body. The thing was roughly six feet in diameter. Its back was facing away from us, so we could get the kill. Jeffrey crouched down as he crept closer to it, going in to kill it before it knew we were here. He got closer... And closer... As he did, he pulled a giant machete out and brought it up to stab its skull. He went in for the kill, and jabbed the creature in the head. It let out a loud screeching and hissing noise, before black stuff came from its head and dribbled all over the machete and floor at an incredibly fast pace. Jeffrey crept back slowly, being careful to not step in the pool of gunk.

I looked around, and saw nothing moving. Not in the distance, nearby, not a thing was stirring. I thought that screech would alert them.

"One down, six to go," He whispered.

"Is that how you kill the thing?" I asked.

"Yep." We eventually were lead to another room, and, funny enough, inside it was another Dusk. "Hey kid, I'll let you handle this one," Jeffrey whispered to me. I nodded my head again and got my machete out as I crept closer to the creature. Closer... Closer... I never felt more scared in my entire existence. The things features were becoming more clear to me now... The Dusk had an entire silver body, with a light silver tone on its wings... The thing was just laying there for some weird reason... But I didn't question. I knew what these things were capable of and didn't want to waste time. I took a few more steps, standing overtop the vile thing. The thing made a weird, growling sound as it seemed to sleep. I took my machete, and to get a good target on it, I looked closely, making sure not to miss. I rammed my machete right in the fucking disgusting creature's skull. Then I quickly jabbed it deeper, going out of the other side of its head as more black like blood poured out. I took the blade out with ease. The thing didn't even make a sound... It just sat there and took it. The fucking thing probably didn't realize what was coming to him. I crept back, and we moved onto the next one as Jeffrey gave me a quick high five.

Finding the next one wasn't really hard, the fucking thing was literally around the corner. Jeffrey killed it, just like the last two, and at this point we were half done. We crept along the walls to find the next one, but alas, it wasn't the easiest to find. The fucking thing was hiding somewhere, but we didn't know where. We did hear strange noises every now and then... But other than that it was complete silence. This was more unnerving... Neither of us knew where the rest were, and like I said before, the fear of the unknown is more chilling than any other thing on this planet. We eventually found another room, but there was nothing in it. We decided to go look inside, to take a small break and to see if there was anything we needed to know about this place.

The tables were thrown about, a mess of papers everywhere, and even some gurneys on the floor... Which added some more questions... These gurneys were obviously for humans... Were they testing on humans? If so, what were they testing? These questions left me restless... And obviously gave me more questions than answers... However, when we were done here, I would ask Jeffrey about what he knew... He seemed knowledgeable enough... Maybe crazy too, but he obviously had answers that I didn't.

Then we saw it... A Dusk quietly came into the room. As we both instantly saw it, we ducked down behind a flipped over table. The thing stopped, then moved, stopped again, then moved again. Repeating its pattern around the room, weirdly not coming near us. I decided to go out and kill it once I could get the things back turned to me. Luckily, I didn't have to go far, as it was now coming towards us. We stayed still as I had my machete ready, the thing went behind the table where we were hiding. Just a couple more steps... Then I could chop its disgusting head off clean with my machete. The thing stopped for a couple seconds, then moved again towards the table we were behind. It was right in front of me when I rammed down on its head with the machete. Instead of chopping it off, it squashed it. The thing's bones, brains, and black liquid-like blood were mixed together in a pile of steaming bodily fluids. Not what I had planned, but it worked. The fucking thing was disgusting. Thankfully, there were only two more then we could be over with this fucking nightmare. We got out from behind the table and left the room, heading on down the hallway; hunting more of the Dusks.

It wasn't long before we found the next one, as it was back were we found the first one... They seem to travel from place to place a lot. Like before, Jeffrey went up to kill it, but just as he brought down the machete, the thing dodged it and attacked him. His body was thrown to the ground as the thing went to bite and dig into his face with its front claws, but before it could, I had my handgun out and shot it in the face. The thing keeled over, and started to convulse, but it stopped abruptly not long after. Jeffrey got up, angrily.

He came up to me with a pissed off expression on his face and yelled at me, "What the fuck are you thinkin'? You should fuckin' know better than to shoot it! The noise from your fuckin' gun will now attract the other one!" Fucking ungrateful bastard. I saved him and this is how he thanks me. Fuck him. I couldn't be more than ready to be done with this job soon enough. I could kill him, and no one would question it. No one would know this poor sick fucks life is gone. No one would miss him. It would be so easy.

"I'm sorry!" I snapped back. Trying to hide the anger rising up in me. I was afraid what he would do if I tried anything now.

"Apologies do nothin'; now we need to be more careful and get outta' here before the last one shows up!" He hollered. His yelling wasn't helping either as it bounced off the walls and echoed down the halls. The fucker didn't realize any loud sound could do that? Fucking degenerate. Before we could move we heard a loud screech from behind us. We turned around and saw it, the last one flying after us. We would be lucky if we got out alive. We had to run. So we did, we ran faster and faster, going towards the basement entrance.

We ran as fast as we could, as the thing was literally behind us. We were almost there... A few more yards... We got to the entrance, and we went through the opening. Jeffrey put the card on the scanner in, and the door quickly shut. I hoped it would stop it. But, my dream soon died fast as the door started shaking. The thing slammed on it. Bam! Bam! Bam! The dusk was making dents in a door meant to keep out humans... Of course, this thing wasn't human...

It wouldn't hold.
