The next day..
I woke up before Naomi did. I checked my watch, and it was 8 AM. We had somewhat of a long day ahead of us. But I figured I would let her sleep in, since I didn't want to piss her off. She did look so beautiful. But what was I to do? I couldn't do anything more with her beyond the realm of "friends"? I guessed that at least.. I sound weird but, its not that way..

An hour later..Naomi finally woke up. She got up and stared at me, then stared at the horse, who was awkwardly behind the bar. It seems weird we put him up in here.. But we had no choice. We didn't want him getting ripped apart by those Beasts.
"Good morning," She told me, while yawning.
"Morning," I replied. She went to dig through food, and then grabbed a random can to eat. I sat down next to her and did the same. I was parched, good thing we had enough water to last us weeks, maybe more. Jeffrey had a stock hold of water. Man was smart, still glad he's dead though."Do you have any idea were that space center is?" She questioned me. Shit. I didn't.
"No clue. We can follow landmarks and maybe end up at it, we've always found ways before," I informed her. She nodded and went back to eating. I was hoping that it wasn't far from here. I didn't know what I was looking for, if it was a tall building or something else.
We got up, and decided to leave the horse here. He might shit on the floor, but I didn't care. We had no choice. I left him random scraps of food and some water, so he would have that for now, until we led him to a lake or river. We had to be careful, which is why I didn't want to bring him with us. It would put him at risk of being killed by Beasts, or anything else out there. Travelling on foot would be good for us anyways.
As we got out, the sun beat down on us harshly, but I was fine. I hoped Naomi was. It was going to be another long day. We walked out of the alley and onto the ruined street. The street was oddly empty. We both looked around, to find any signs of the space center. Nothing. We decided to head deeper in the city, and we passed by many marvelous things, shops, bars, restaurants, even some hotels. It was kinda sad. The cities all looked the same to me; with none of them being different from each other, other than the names and location. They all looked like the same boring cities, but were once filled with life. I tried to imagine more people in the cities. I couldn't. I couldn't imagine people living in something so.. Empty. Void of existence. I wondered if this was it for the human race; one cry, one breath, one blink away from extinction.. If this was it.. If this is what we are fighting for, I didn't know if we should even try anymore.. Should I give up? Is that the answer? Giving up?"Look!" Naomi pointed at something. I looked over to see Naomi wiping off the moss that covered the sign. We looked at it, which clearly stated: "NASA Space Center: Three miles ahead." Well we found something. But this was going to be a long day after all.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
An hour or so later..
We turned the corner, and as soon as we did, we saw a big, massive, horde of Beasts blocking the entrance to what looked like the space center. There had to be at least a fifty of them. Fuck, just our luck. There was no way around it, unless we wanted to waste more time going the other way we came."Looks like we have to fight," I informed Naomi. She shook her head and readied for a brawl. I ran up to one of them, and jammed my machete into it's eye socket. Blood spurted out, and I twisted it deeper, then slid it back out, with it falling to the ground. Naomi was repeatedly smashing skulls in, having the pavement covered in Beast Blood. One came up to me, and slammed me against the ground. I fought back, and hit my machete on its neck, cutting it's head clean off. Two more showed up in front of me, both of them darting at me, faster than I imagined. I kicked one in the stomach, as it fell to the ground, the other one, I jabbed the machete through it's skull, and ripped it open, tearing it in half. Bits of skull and brain spilled out, as it fell.
We were almost done, with it dwindling down more and more. At this point, I was at my last one. The thing ran up to me, and I did the usual, jabbed the machete in it's skull. The thing didn't even hesitate; it kept moving, snapping it's jaw at me, while hissing. I repeatedly stabbed it's face, but it just kept going. Then the blade of the machete broke off, as the other part of the machete stuck right inside it's eye socket. I pulled out my gun fast; and aimed at it. I shot it, but I missed. That's when Naomi came up to it, and slammed the baseball bat on it's head. The nails stuck in it's head, the Beast fell over. She had to pull on the bat hard to get it out. She kept pulling but it was stuck. I grabbed the bat, and I couldn't get it out, as it was fucking stuck in it's skull. We both pulled, and luckily we got it out. Blood and pieces of skull flew everywhere. The baseball bat was painted in a deep blood red color. The spikes had pieces of brain still on it. Naomi didn't seem to care.
"Are you okay?" Naomi asked.
"Yes. I am. Fucking thing wouldn't die," I explained. Which was weird. The Beasts seemed to be getting stronger and faster. I had to be more careful.
"Let's go," She told me. I shook my head, and we booked it up to the entrance.
