...The day of the attack...
We woke up early. It was 6 AM and Naomi was wide awake. She was up and around before I was. Of course, she made food because we couldn't do this plan on an empty stomach. I was nervous, because we were putting our lives at risk. But the worth outweighs the risk in this one, so we had to do it. We could save Elias and take out the cannibal group and the leader all at once. Whoever the leader was... I already wanted to kill him, and I didn't even know him. The person had to have a fucked up mind in order to eat humans.
I got up and ate the food Naomi made in less than five minutes. We had to hurry. We had to do it today... We couldn't keep putting it off. The more we did, the more likely Elias was going to be killed by those psychopaths and turned into their next fucking meal. I wanted to kill them all, and erase them into oblivion until they were no more. People like them is what make this world a fucked up place. They all deserved to die. Every last one of them.
"Are you ready?" Naomi came up to me and asked. I just shook my head in agreement. This was it. Now or never. We would finally rescue Elias. I hoped they didn't hurt him too much, or I wouldn't be able to live with myself. We grabbed our gear, locked and loaded, and left the safe place. Outside, was bright and sunny already. It looked like a beautiful day to kill some fucked up individuals.
We walked down the alley which lead us to the main street. Then, I stopped suddenly and noticed something. I stopped Naomi from going any further as she was still oblivious to what it was. I gulped as I looked upon a giant horde of Beasts, about a hundred or so, blocking our path to get to the Cannibal's hideout. They were a few yards down the street, but we had to make another plan to go around.
"Naomi stop." I whispered in her ear as she still tried to keep going. She stopped in her tracks as I pointed the Beasts out to her.
"Oh my fucking god..." She whispered back to me. What would we do now?
"Now what?" I asked her.
"I know this city like the back of my hand. After being here for years, you start to every nook and cranny in this city. There's a few side streets we could go on to lead us right to where we need to be." Sounded good; I trusted her. I kinda had to anyways.
We snuck down an alleyway not far ahead of the Beasts, but they didn't hear us so it was fine. They seemed lost in their own little world and oblivious to us. The alley went to the left and right, but we obviously went right. Down that alley was another one which twisted to a sharp right. And then we were out and right in front of the bridge for the train. There were no Beasts around in this vicinity, but it seemed that most of them were in that horde, which was both good and bad. Because of the horde, we had a limited amount of time to take the Cannibals out. Because the sound of gunfire, and blood, which come from bullet wounds, attracted them. Both are a deadly combo. Especially when you expect a lot of both in the war we were walking into.
"How far are we away from there?" I questioned Naomi.
"Literally not that far. Like a quarter mile at most, I would guess." She got quiet for a little bit and sighed. "Look Oliver..."
"Hm?"
"I will always have your back, I promise." I wasn't sure what to say. Only one other person was willing to do that, and that was Elias.
My mouth hung open before I replied back, "I will too. All of a sudden, she stopped walking and I walked ahead of her a little, but she didn't move as she looked down at the ground. I didn't know what was wrong with her. I knew this had to be serious for her to suddenly stop, so I came back to her, and asked, "Hey, what's wrong?"
