I groaned, shutting my eyes before placing my hand on my wounded head. The sounds of growling, squealing, whimpering, cracking, screaming and barking was all I could hear before I opened my eyes to see Sophie by my side staring at two huge wolves fighting each other. I pealed my hand away from myself and stared at the red blood coating my hand. I gasped and sat up, Sophie helped my up and she too gasped at the sight of my hand.
"Y-your bleeding" she said staring at my throbbing head. I felt a small urge to roll my eyes at the obvious statement but I was too occupied from the pain erupting within my head to bother. I sat up, the two wolves were still fighting.
"Is there anyway we could get down that cliff with out dying?" I whispered to Sophie.
Sophie neared to the cliff edge, peering over. Quietly coming back to me "there's a small ledge 20ft down. We can climb down and we'd escape with out those crazy dogs catching us."
I looked back at the wolves, they're still fighting? How is one of them not dead yet? I turned to the edge and shuffled closer, hopefully not gaining the attention from the dogs.
"Ella, are you sure you'll be able to do it? I mean your head looks pretty bad, maybe there's another way.."
"No. We're going down the cliff. My head isn't that bad and plus, I've had worse" I stare down the cliff, looking for the best route to the ledge.
"I'll go first" Sophie whispered and swung her body over the edge, climbing down. I too swung over the edge, placing my hands and feet in pockets of the cliff face. I had climbed three metres from the top when rough howls erupted. We climbed faster down the cliff, I moved my hand to grab hold of the rock when crumbles of dirt fell on my hand. I looked up and saw three wolves looking pretty beaten up, staring down at us growling.
"Keep going!" I shouted at Sophie.
More crumbles fell from the top of the cliff but we kept climbing down.
"I'm nearly there!" Sophie shouted up at me.
When I looked up to see how far we'd gone down, the Alpha wolf was reaching its paw down the cliff, trying to get me. I pulled my left hand away, dangling on the cliff face with my right hand keeping me from falling.
A bark sounded from the huge wolf above me followed by a whine. Why would they whine? Whining shows they're sad? Oh wait, it's sad because it lost its prey.
